Spring Flowers

This month as you know it's all about the lovely Funky Seasons CD and in particular the Spring Collection of papers within this CD.  As it was Mother's Day on Sunday I decided to use the papers and make a Mother's Day card.  Made the flowers using  circle punches  and a love heart  punch and typed the sentiment.

The Funky Seasons CD is only £1 for the whole of this month so go grab a bargain

Happy Mothers Day..here's a sneaky peek!

Hi everyone,

Anice here today.  I want to send best wishes to all you Mums (Moms) out there on your special day.  I hope you are all being spoiled rotten. :)

Obviously, it was my job to make the Mothers Day cards here so I created them using a couple of backing papers that are included on a 'soon to be released' Funky Hand downloadable collection called 'Pretty As A Picture' Keep an eye here or on the Funky Hand Facebook Page to find out a release date.

The toppers are beautiful Hanglar Stanglar stamps, which unfortunately are no longer available for sale. Though they can sometimes be found on Ebay etc. Anyway, here's a closer look,

This one was for Ians Mum.  I decided to send the cards from the person who was sending them so this one is in blues and from a little boy (that would be Ian!)  Also Ian calls his Mother 'Mum'..

As you can see I call my Mother 'Mom'  The backing papers are just two from the collection but just using the brown and white ones made it really easy to add any colour to them and give a different look.

I'm still practicing with my Promarkers so the colouring is not perfect, hence the banner on the pink card falling down over her trousers..covering up a little mistake I made.Hehe!  But, isn't that the joy of making your own cards? Customising them! :)

Speak again soon.

This month we are celebrating Spring..

Hi all,

We are planning on celebrating Spring this all month.  Hopefully by the end of March it will have arrived..here in the UK anyway.  To do this we are travelling back a little way in the Funky Hand timeline and the Design Team are going to be sharing creations using the Funky Seasons original CD ROM.

Original CDs? Why are they called that? I hear you ask.  Well, they are the CDs that we released before Papercraft Factory was designed.  The original CDs are made to just pop into your disc drive, run, get your choice of backing papers or extras and then put them safely away again until next time.  No loading of software.  If this is how you like your digital crafting then these range of CDs could be just what you need.

Also, they are available on the Funky Hand website for just £1.00 each.  You can't go wrong with them really!

OK, on the Funky Seasons CD there are thirteen different backing paper collections. Three in Spring like colours, three for Summer style crafting, three in lovely Autumn hues and finally three for more cool Winter creations. There is also an extra Black and White collection. As well as backing papers there are also co- ordinating Alphabets, tags and other extras so there is plenty to play with!  Obviously, you don't need to stick to when you can use them, they are just colour collections. Choose your fav. :)

But, this month the design team will be just creating stuff to share with you using the three Spring collections.

I've already had a sneaky peek of some of the creations, 'cos I'm the Boss and I get the inside info!, and they are AMAZING!  It all starts right here tomorrow so, don't forget to swing by and see what wonderful inspiration the DT ladies have in store for you.

If you are over on Facebook, why not 'like' the Funky Hand Facebook page or join the Funky Hand Crafting group?  There are interesting deals and info over there you might miss out on.

That's it from me for today. See you over the month for Spring inspiration.
Happy Crafting!

Hearts and Flowers Duo

Hello

Happy New Year!

Gosh, it's been a while since we popped by to post some of our Funky Hand makes, hasn't it?  We will try and be better now the festivities are over.

Lets face it, we could probably all do with a bit of creative inspiration to get us crafting again -  I'm always relieved to put away the most Christmassy stuff, and I'm desperate to craft something different I seem to have forgotten how to make anything without baubles, trees, snowflakes stockings ........ but maybe that's just me......

Anyway, I needed a little gift box to put a birthday present in, so I made  a little pillow box and matching birthday card using the
Would you believe that when I went to save my photos I discovered that I'd never made anything with these designs before?  So even after several years of designing with Fabulous Funky Hand I can still find "new" treasures.  This is a little tip for you too - pop across to the shop and see what's there that you've missed - it might be just the kick-start you need to get crafting
I started by printing the main design on one side of a sheet of A4 card and another on the other side - so that both the inside and outside of the finished box would look pretty.  Then I resized and printed a selection of the designs on both sides of another sheet of card so that I had plenty of choice for the trimming the box and making the birthday card

As you can see, I put lots of dies and punches to work making these, then I raided my embellishment stash to find matching net, ribbon, gems and pearls to finish it off

The colours were such a refreshing change to use after all the festive ones that I really felt energised and ready to do some more crafting.  I've been busy exploring and printing off more papers from the various downloads and CDs and wading through my Pinterest boards for all those ideas "saved to try later"!

Here are the card and box together in one last really dreadful photo - I really should learn to check the images to make sure I have good photos before putting the things in the post! Ah well, such is life

Come back soon for more Funky Hand Crafting - and if you've been using Funky Hand goodies in your own crafting, we'd really love to see so leave us a link so we can pop by.

Have a paw-fect christmas!!

Morning everyone!!

Lou in with a little make for you today. I made 10 of these little cards for my friend who is an absolute hero at our local RSPCA  branch. They are having a craft fair day on the 13th December so I am hoping to get a few more makes in!!

The papers in the T Dawg wordbook download are just so paw-fect for cute pet themed cards, I love them. I printed them out at half size so none of that cute bone detail was missed on the little stocking!

I think that the Kendrick Kat Wordbook is going to get the same use this week for some more with a kitty theme!! he he he!!

I would love to make a whole stack more of these as a thank you for my gorgeous little Dasher who we rescued from the local RSPCA kennels and we are picking him up today!

Thank you for popping in

Claws, Meow and Jingle

Morning

It's Debbie here with a card I put together with the recent release of the Kendrick Kat Wordbook. The papers and wordbook pages aren't necessarily for you to create only wordbooks. I like to set myself a challenge when Anice creates a new download for Funkyhand to try something different.

There is nothing wrong with making a wordbook as the possibilities are endless, after all Anice is the queen creator of them. The papers are so fun and quirky in this collection.

For my card I opened the file up in my graphics program and made Kendrick kat do some fun poses!!!!! He is so cool....

I typed a sentiment and started to put my card together. I cut out some of the words from 1 of the papers to add some interest.

If you want to share any of your makes or views with us either below or on our Facebook page we'd love to see them.

Marleen DT - Wash it all away.

Morning everyone..

Bit of inspration from me today for
Funky Hand.

Today I want to share a little project Ive made with the "Wash it all Away" download.
I love this download as its one of those I can use to indulge in my passion for vintage while still keeping it up to date..

Here is what I have made:

For this project I decided to make something really different for me.
I made a little gift box and a matching card, but its the content of the box that was my original idea.

Before I made the box or card, I made the pegs.
They started as normal wooden pegs. I simply painted them white and cut strips of a paper and glues on. The stars are cut with a die and stuck on with foam pads and glitter glue added.
To make the pegs a bit more durable, I covered them with a coat of varnish.

I decided I wanted to make a little gift box for my pegs so searched the net for a freebie template, but couldnt find one. So instead I had a go at making my own.. Its the first time Ive tried to make a box freehand but I think it turned out ok..

A simple matching card.

And that is it from me for today. I hope you like what I made.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behing

Thank you for peeking in!

Winter Wishes

Afternoon,

It's Debbie here, this wild and Sunny Sunday - well it is here in East Yorkshire. I am doing my post later than expected today but I've made it at last.

Today I wanted to make something for the people I send Winter Wishes cards to instead of Christmas cards. Just because they don't celebrate it, I still want them to know I'm thinking about them. I only make a couple or so of these a year. Now when I started I knew what paper download I wanted to use and that I wanted to make a couple of cards using the same items. I like to challenge myself now and again. So here they are:

The paper download is 1 of my favourites  called Winter wonderland .

All I printed out was 1 sheet of A4 with 2 papers on it, the rest were from
my bits folder. Some twine, 1 set of snowflake dies and liquid pearls instead of gems etc.

Why not share some of your Funkyhand makes or views with us either below or on our Facebook page.

Have you a Minute or 10?

Hi, Kathy here today and I seem to have been in such a rush lately - so much to do so little time.  So I thought I'd have a go at something I have never, ever found easy - 10 minute cards!

Now I'm not counting printing time in that 10 minutes or so, but, as it happened I had a some pieces of these Winter Wedding papers from Funky Hand lying on my desk (I'll show you why, later), so the only printing I needed to do was an extra A5 piece of the dark blue pinstripe  as I didn't have a piece big enough to make the background square
How easy is this card then?  I think these papers work so well for a geometric layout like this.
A big square, a smaller square and a little one to fix the monogram to.
The banner is just a rectangle with the points hand=cut, and the "brads" were made just with a small circle punch and shaped with an embossing ball tool.
The monogram is a chipboard sticker so no work there either.

I still had a few scraps so I thought I'd have another go

The 2 layers for the banner are made the same way as above.
The circle is a Spellbinders Nestie die
As luck would have it I had a spare printed "Happy Birthday" sentiment left over from something else
(I'd printed 2 at the same time as I wasn't sure which font I liked best for a project)
Okay, so I'll admit deciding to make a little rosette pushed this over the 10 minutes, but not by much.  It's just a strip of paper, scored using my scoring board, folded up quickly and glued onto a punched circle of card.
 It didn't take long.
The centre of the rosette is another punched circle (a bit larger than the ones on the first card), shaped with a ball tool again and glued in place
Probably took 15 minutes max to make this one

So, what cards can you make in 10-15 minutes>  If you have a go, don't forget to let us know where we can see your creations

Oh yes, I was going to show what I'd been making with these papers wasn't I?
That's it for this time, thanks for visiting - don't go without leaving a message, we'd all love to hear from you ;)

A little bit of Santa Baby......

Morning.

It's Debbie here with a card I put together yesterday.I looked through my Funkyhand left over papers folder and decided to use the  'Santa baby' paper download. It is full of yummy pastels and whatever Anice creates there are papers to suit any occasion.

Sorry I teased you with the title but it's not a Christmas card...... and all the papers are from this download - would you believe it!

I took a couple of pics to show you how I ended up with the card above. With my scraps I only printed out an additional sheet of A4 paper.

To start with:
I cut out lots of circles with my circle cutter.
I trimmed a couple of strips of card.
I matted and layered onto the base card.I'd already typed 'Happy Birthday' onto the blue sheet of card.
All I had to do was layer up the circles and trimmed them.
Make sure you don't glue all of the circle - leave a strip at the bottom so you can tuck the circles in. I know this because I glued the whole circle first then found I needed to tuck 2 underneath each time-good job I tested this out for you.
To finish you just add a strip of card at each side of the circles to tidy it up.

I saw an idea with the circles on pinterest this morning and had to try it.

Add a few card candy
and some bakers twine then you're all done.
Lots of fun.

If you want to share any of your makes or views with us either below or on our Facebook page.

Marleen DT - I like coffee...

Hi guys..

Its my turn to share a bit of inspiration.

This month I have had a play with the "Im a mug for you - I like coffee" digital stamp.
I have also ude the papers called "Tea's up"
YOu can find both and all the other fantastic goodies over in the STORE...

Here is what I have made:

A little side stepper card for this month. I dont make many of these, but I thought it would fit really well with this image. I really wanted to show of the image, but still let the papers do a bit of the talking.

My image is printed and coloured with Promarkers.
The rest of my card (bar the card blank) is all from the "tea's up" papers.

To make the little accents I just cut out 2 of the cups from a spare piece if that paper and mounted with foampads and finished with a bit of glossy accent.

And that is all from me for today.
Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.
