Polkadots & Flowers with Wishes & Kisses!

Hello! Jenny here and I'm just popping in to share my 'Polkadots & Flowers' make with you...

I've used elements from the fabulous new CD Wishes & Kisses as the focus of my card - you can get your hands on the CD here tomorrow (Thurs 31st May). I've used some spotty paper and combined it with a fabulous flower template - both of which you'll find on the CD. I finished of by framing the flowers with some paper scraps - the eagle eyed amongst you will notice the new pattern on that paper too! ;)

I do hope you've been enjoying this month's challenge so far. If you're yet to play along please remember our one and only rule - use at least one Funky Hand product in your creation. Don't forget you can get your hands on the Funky Freebie here! You can find all the other details on how to enter this month in the challenge launch post, written by Ruth, here!

Lou will be up next with some more polkadotty & flowery inspiration for you so please pop back here on 2nd June!

Stay Funky!

Kathy's Spotty House of Flowers

Hello, it's me, Kathy, back again already....
This time I'm here with my projects for our new Hostess Ruth's challenge:

Polkadots and Flowers

To join in with us this month, all you need to do is make any project you like using those ingredients - as long as you use at least one Funky Hand product you'll be in with a chance of winning this month's free download prize.  There's even a perfectly matched freebie to download, so even if you don't have your Funky Stash yet there's no excuses!

I've used papers from the CD Craft the Year Away to make my card for this time.  I needed a "new home" card and thought it would work nicely with the dots and flowers of this month's Funky Fifteenth
I've printed out the polka-dot paper in 2 sizes using the workspace on the Papercraft Factory CD - I do love playing about with that facility!  I used my Craft Robo to cut the house and the flowers and then used a quilling tool to add some shape to the petals
Materials
Papers: Papercraft Factory CD "Craft the Year Away", this collection is called "September Song"
Tiny mauve gems, pc generated sentiment, Inks
Tools:
Spelbinders dies to cut aperture and surround,
Spelbinders die for sentiment piece
Craft Robo templates for little house and flowers

I cut far too many flowers and it seemed a shame to bin them. so I made a super-simple "bonus" card too.
I used a (MS) border punch along a leftover piece of the polka-dot paper, added a length of Seam binding with a knot on it, then just glued the flowers along the ribbon and added more of the mauve gems and a sentiment sticker/rub on to finish

We're looking forward to seeing your creative projects this month - please don't forget
or your entry won't qualify.

That's all from me - there'll be another Funkette along in a couple of days to share another project, so please come back soon

Happy Crafting!!

New Challenge: Polkadots and Flowers!

It's the Funky Fifteenth and that means its time for another challenge!  I (Ruth) am your hostess this month and the theme I have picked is:

Polkadots and Flowers

So as long as those two staple ingredients feature along with the most important product - a Funky Hand item - then you can enter our challenge!  Each month Anice provides a freebie that you can download and use for the challenge as it fits!  So even if you don't own anything Funky Hand yet, snag the download and use it on your creation and enter our challenge! The winner gets to choose a download of their choice from the store.

For my sample I've made a posh gift bag by using a handbag template (a die cut shape that I've had for absolutely ages!) and I've used the Rainbow Polkadots download and added the flowers using Spellbinder Nestabilities (used different sized dies) - the papers are various bits of angel hair and tissue paper I had in my stash.  If you want to know more just pop over to my blog to find out!

Don't forget you MUST USE A FUNKY HAND product in your creation otherwise we cannot consider you for the top prize or our top three.

The rest of the Design Team will be along at regular intervals until the next challenge is set on 15 June - so you have from now until 14 June to enter.  Good luck and don't forget to use a Funky Hand product!

Sentimental to the Last

Hi, Kathy here today with the last project for our current challenge.

Get Funky! is all about showcasing Design Team projects and encouraging people to share the things they've made using products from
Between 15th April and 15th May, we've all been getting sentimental with hostess Debs' theme:
LET'S GET SENTIMENTAL

Usually its an image or a decorative element that is the focus of the things we make - but this time it's the sentiment taking the starring role.
You've just about got time to join in and add your project but remember,
you must use at least one FUNKY HAND product!

and you must make the sentiment the focal point of whatever you make
Maybe you are new to Funky Hand and haven't any of their stash to use - well, no problem as there's a FUNKY FREEBIE
themed especially for this current challenge - perfect for joining in at the last minute, eh?

Free craft backing papers to download for card making and scrapbooking

available here

I've made a card using the Funky Freebie and also papers from the Funky Hand Papercraft Factory CD - Happy Happy Birthday
which has the perfect paper design for something where the sentiment is the star - because the entire sheet is covered with the sentiment!
I printed the paper in two sizes, the larger version for the background and a teeny sized piece to make the little square "button" embellishment.  The two red squares are also from the same paper collection and the fab striped design is from this month's Freebie.  I punched a couple of holes through the square button and add some green twine and it was done.

I still had some scraps left, plus a piece of gingham paper I'd printed but didn't use in the end, so here's my "bonus" card using one of the sentiments from the Freebie - with a little freehand amendment ;)

You've got today and tomorrow (14th) to get your entries in and you never know, you could end up winning our regular prize of a your choice of Funky Hand Downloads - it's got to be worth a try, hasn't it?

Please add your entry with Mr Linky below.

Happy Crafting

How many ways can you Get Sentimental?!!

Morning Peeps!!
Its time for me to share with you my little Funky Hand DT make for our Deb's Sentimental challenge. I love sentiments so this was a fun challenge to do.

I was in a makey kinda mood so you get 3 makes from me today!!  I went for one card and then made some tissue covers a la my gorgeous friend Catherine's tutorial, Thank you Catherine, Mwah xxxx
This one at the top uses the awesome Steam Funk download. It is one of my absolute fav's and is completely yummilicious for all sorts of things because it is covered in little crafty sentiments and definitions when you get reading it!  and I really didn't need to do too much other than add some lace, cute little butterflies with flower stamen and bead bodies (..told you I was in a makey mood !!!) and a quick sentiment made using the Impact Label font that is on all the papercraft factory cd's..I love that too!! :)

So my card!!! I used the April Funky Freebie and the Happy Happy birthday papercraft factory for it and I love how it came out!! the sentiment for this card is also on the freebie.
Now these little covers are completely addictive and sooo much fun. I love making them and they are absolutely perfect for sentiments too. And they are so much fun to make with the Papers from Funky Hand too!! I love them!!

Next up is a little more of a sympathy one. I used the I do wordbook for this one as it has this really gorgeous quilted 3D looking paper on it that I just adore. It looks so comfy!!!
I nestified the sentiment and then added just a few teeny flowers to the top.
OOOOOOOOHHHHH!! and while I am here don't forget about the Bank Holiday Sale that is on over in the Funky Hand shop!!! there's nothing like a long weekend and discount shopping :) :) :)

And please remember to use at least 1 funky Hand product on your makes for the challenge, thankyou!!!

huge hugs Lou xxxx

Getting Sentimental!

Hello! Jenny here and I'm just popping in to share my 'Lets Get Sentimental' make with you. I've gone for a bright, cheerful & blingy 'thinking of you' card...

I've used the fabulous Funky Freebie as the focus of my card - you can get your hands on it here! I've used both the paper and the sentiment from the freebie. I started with the sentiment then layered up sections of the stripy paper over the top (with the stripe facing different directions) to add some dimension. I then die cut some circles to make some shabby flowers, added some ribbon (from this pack here), added a wooden butterfly embellishment and tons of brads & bling!

I do hope you've been enjoying this month's challenge so far. If you're yet to play along please remember our one and only rule - use at least one Funky Hand product in your creation.  You can find all the other details on how to enter in the challenge launch post, written by Debs, here!

Lou will be up next with some more sentimental inspiration for you so please pop back here on 6th May!

Stay Funky!
