Anyone for Tea Darling - It's Paula Here?

Hello to all our regular 'Get Funky' readers - and a massive warm welcome to any new ones.

I hope you are going to join in with the challenge this month which is based on this sketch created by Anice:

The Design Team all loved this sketch and couldn't wait to get going with it - we sure hope you do too. If you want to read how Anice kicked off the challenge - please click HERE where she will tell you all you need to know about joining in. If in doubt - you just need to ensure that at least ONE of the elements on your project is from either a Funky Hand CD or Funky Hand Download from the website, but if you own neither - here is a very generous funky freebie download paper that you can use to join in with this months challenge. Just to make it a bit easier - could you please tell us which collection from which CD your paper is from.

Click on the pic of the freebie in order to take you to the place where you can download it (please don't share the file with anyone - just direct them to this blog and encourage your crafty friends to take part too)...

Well, without further ado - here is my project this month, which I completed using the 'Dreams Come True' CD, the collection is called 'Delightful Fun'

I hope you like the colour scheme as much as I do - those deep pinks with the taupe colour along with black looks very classy I think. The image is from the Papercraft Factory set of CD's and comes with the 'Craft the Year Away' CD - but can be used with any of the three CD's when used in the workspace area. I have used similar colour Promarkers to highlight the image to bring it all together. The sentiment stamped on the front is from a collection from my stash.

Well, that's it for me this month (where does the time go?). I hope I've inspired you to join in and even take a look at the CD's again - the potential of the Papercraft Factory CD's is phenomenal... even the older, Funky Hand original CD's have some stunning papers on - and are very relevent and on-trend now. It's as if Anice was ahead of her time with her designs when she created them - or you could even say that they are infact timeless - and just really useful all the time, any time!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my DT project, don't forget to keep an eye out for more inspiration from the rest of the team too.

Remember to click HERE to find out about entering - or if you are a regular, enter by clicking on Mr Frog below this and every post on this months blog posts.

Take good care of yourselves and see you back here soon

Tea's Up!

Morning Funky Fans!

I thought I'd show you what I've made with Anice's rather faberoony sketch:

Now, I've got a little secret to tell you, but sssssssshhhh, don't tell anyone I told you... the papers on this card are from a brilliant new download, Tea's Up, coming to Funky Hand very soon. It's full of delish spots, stripes, and some rather funky 'Polly put the kettle on' inspired papers. So keep an eye out, because you're going to want it. But remember, Mum's the word! ;)

The cute little owl is from the Dreams Come True CD. I printed him out onto one of the papers from the (new!) Tea's Up Download, (Sssssshhhh!) and I've added some dew drops to make his eyes extra googly.

You still have plenty of time to play along with our Sketch, remember you'll need to use a Funky Hand product. But don't worry if you don't have any Funky stuff, as you can grab this months gorgeous Funky Freebie. Or maybe a cuppa (sssssshhhh!)...

Funky Sketch with Ruth

It's my turn (Ruth) to hopefully inspire you with the wonderful sketch Anice has challenged us to use for this month. I've made two items - I covered a rather grim looking address book with papers from Colour Me Happy along with the little house image. That has been coloured with Aquamarkers and I've added liquid pearl dots around the nesties shape.

And for my second item I made a new home card with Salt and Pepper download papers plus an image from Dreams Come True. The ribbon and tiny key charm are all from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge - closing date is 14 of July and don't forget to use at least one Funky Hand product in your creation and there is always the Funky Freebie if you haven't got anything! Please add the link to your entry via the blue frog below.

Debs' Funky 15th Sketch Card

Good morning Funky Peeps - it's Debs here with my inspiration for this month's Funky 15th challenge that has been picked by the boss lady herself.
Anice has given us a really fabulous sketch to work with this month

Now, you can use this sketch for you creations as you like. Turn it on it's side, twist it around or use it just as you see it.  As long as we can see the basic sketch idea in your crafty creation then that is just fine.  Also as always you need to use at least one Funky Hand product..but there is a new Funky Freebie on the website www.funkyhand.com waiting for you just incase you don't own any Funky Hand products yet.

So here's my take on the sketch:

I have used papers from Colour Me Happy - Contented Coffee range and the super cute image is also from the same Papercraft CD.
I used the text writer function to create a text border and then punched the edges with a doily style border punch.
A touch of pleated ribbon to finish it off - job done - simples!!

With so much choice of gorgeous Design Papers and images now available at Funky Hand - you have everything you need to get sketchy with us this month - I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Look out for more gorgeous inspiration for my Funky Teamies throughout the month.
Have a fabulous day.

Get Funky new June Challenge

Hi everyone and welcome to the new Get Funky challenge for June.  This is Anice and I'm in charge this month. I love a good sketch challenge so that's what I thought I'd bring to you this month..so here is the sketch for you to follow..

Now, you can use this sketch for you creations as you like. Turn it on it's side, twist it around or use it just as you see it.  As long as we can see the basic sketch idea in your crafty creation then that is just fine.  Also as always you need to use at least one Funky Hand product..but there is a new Funky Freebie on my website www.funkyhand.com waiting for you just incase you don't own any Funky Hand products yet.

Here is my take on the sketch for your first bit of inspiration..

For my card I used papers from my craft CD Craft The Year Away  The papers are from the February Love collection and the cupcake is one of the digital images also available on Craft The Year Away. I was a bit lazy and used the pre coloured digi image but there is a blank version on the CD as well so you can colour your cupcake how ever you would like!  I have added a little Glossy Accents to the cherry on the top of the cake but I'm afraid the picture doesn't show the glossy effect that well.

So, there you go.  As usual the other members of the Funky Hand Design Team will be back here ever few days to show you their take on this months sketch.  They will be sharing their creations and I'm sure a few tips and tricks along the way so don't forget to keep popping back to be inspired.  Oh and don't forget to join in..we love to see your creations and visit your blogs..and for the winner there is a free Funky Hand download of your choice.

Looking forward to hearing what you think and seeing what you make.

Anice cooking?!..only with Kathys challenge!

Hello everyone it's Anice here..now I have to be truthful I'm not much of a cook..infact that's putting it mildly..but when I saw Kathys craft recipe for the May Get Funky challenge I thought it was something I could cope with.  I hope you agree and decide to join in with us by the 14th June so you have a change to win a free Funky Hand download.  Enough chat..what is the craft recipe for this months challenge?

Kathy asked us to include in our creations..
5 Flowers
Use 3 different papers
2 Buttons
1 Ribbon (cut up or in one strip whatever you prefer)
and a sprinkling of Gems or pearls

Ok..so here is my creation..

The base of the card was made using the Funky Freebie for this month available on my website www.funkyhand.com  Grab it very soon though as it changes each month with the new months challenge on the 15th of each month.  The other papers are from my craft CD Colour Me Happy, they are from the Contented Coffee collection.  The five flowers are made of papers from the same collection but I'm working on a new set of downloads that should help you to make flowers just like them, if grungy flowers are your thing then keep your eyes on my website for new downloads and a video to show you just how to make them in the near future!

I attached the flowers with pearl brads so that was my sprinkle of pearls.  The two buttons are from the Funky Hand February Love buttons Collection and the ribbon is from the Funky Hand February Love Ribbons Collection.( They can both be found in the Stash section of my website)

So there you have it, my first crafty cooking..I have to say I think it has turned out better than any cake I have ever tried to make!!  So now it's your turn to join in with us.  The only rule is that your creation must contain at least one Funky Hand product..but that's why I give you a  Funky Freebie Download paper each month just incase you don't have any Funky Hand products yet..gives you a free chance to try out something.

Looking forward to seeing your creations.

Kathy's Master Chef Recipe

Hi Everyone

Jules' turn to get those ingredients out and line them up to see what I can concoct.

Kathy very kindly set the challenge this time round
and provided a list of ingredients for us to work with
.. .. but no instructions as to what we were doing with them
.. .. so everyone has finished up with something completely different.

Here is the list of the ingredients at the start of play:

3 different design papers
2 buttons
5 flowers
1 length of ribbon (which you can cut into smaller lengths if you wish)
A sprinkling of pearls or gems to season

(remember that at least one Funky Hand product
must be included somewhere on your creation).

So I lined my ingredients up and off I went
.. ..  and here is my finished make which used the free download provided by Anice
for the base tag and the Shabby Saturday download for the remainder.  (Love this download!!)

I had already told myself that I would like to make a tag this month
before Kathy revealed her challenge to all us Funkettes .. ..
so when I saw exactly how many ingredients I had to fit on my tiny tag I thought
... .. PANIC!!!!

Kathy did very kindly say that a tag can be any size .. .. even super huge .. .. but I decided not to take the easy route ..  .. and in the end I think I could have included even more on my little tag LOL!!!

Thank you for a lovely challenge Kathy xx

I hope you have been keeping track of all of the lovely creations my Funky Teamies have created.

If you fancy lining your ingredients up and playing along we would love to see what you create.

There is a gorgeous free paper to get you started if you don't have any Funky goodies at the moment.
You will find it here.

Anice will be along in a couple of days to show you what she created but in the meantime
have a great day everyone .. ..

Love Jules xx

Get Funky Recipe

Good morning everyone Allison here with my recipe challenge card which was set this month by our Kathy who has asked us to follow this recipe: 5 flowers, 3 different papers, 2 buttons and a ribbon - all mixed up with a light seasoning of a sprinkle of gems and/or pearls.

This months freebie can be used but so long as you use at least one Funky Hand product then you are eligible for a chance to win the prize.

For my card I used papers from the Blue Magic collection from the Dreams Come True CD- I made three flowers using a die and added another two fabric flowers at each end of the pom pom ribbon, doodled some stems and added buttons and jewels to the flowers.

There is still time for you enter this months challenge so get cookin'

It's Jackie's turn

to don the chef's hat for my take on the challenge for this month! Kathy chose a recipe for us to follow this month and it is as follows
Ingredients:

3 different papers
5 flowers
2 buttons
1 length of ribbon (you can chop this up to taste)
A sprinkling of pearls or gems to season
and at least one Funky Hand product must be included! (as always there is a fabulous freebie from our very talented leader, Anice)

After much deliberation and a couple of other makes I finally settled on making a stepper card

Now I'm not one for teaching grannies to suck eggs but I thought I would add my own trusted measurements for making a side stepper card from a single piece of A4 card as I'm sure there are people out there who have never made one. It's one of my favourite cards to make. Here goes

With the card laid in portrait in front of you, measure and make a pencil mark at 4 cm from the left side and 6cm and 26cm from the bottom. Using a craft knife and ruler cut the card between the two marks top to bottom. Score the card at 6cm, 13cm, 17.5cm, 22.5cm and 26cm and starting with a mountain fold at the 6cm mark fold the wide (right) panel in a concertina fashion (eg mountain, valley, mountain, valley, mountain). Mark the 4cm wide section at 13.8cm and make a mountain fold. Go over a bunish each fold with a bone folder and decorate your card as you wish.

Don't forget that you still have until 14th June to take part in this challenge and you can grab the freebie paper from
Don't forget to show us what you come up with :)
