GET FUNKY CHALLENGE - DECEMBER...

Morning Everyone.....we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined in last month's challenge and congratulations to the lucky winner.
Can you believe it's the 1st of December already...we really are on the countdown to Christmas now.
It's my turn (Kath) to set this month's challenge and I don't think you will need too many guesses....oh yes I have gone with a Christmas theme

DECK THE HALLS
with boughs of holly....
fa..la la la la.....la la la

What I would like you to do this month is to create a Christmas decoration to decorate your wall...mantlepiece Christmas table or to hang on your tree.....a Christmas Gift or perhaps a box or gift wrapping
In these credit crunch times.....wouldn't it be nice to save a few pennies and make some of your Christmas gifts this year....all wrapped up in hand-made boxes and I know that your family and friends would be over the moon to receive something that you had lovingly made or perhaps you have looked out your tree trimmings and quite frankly they have seen better days....looking a bit sad....so why not make your own.

As usual you have a whole month to complete the challenge and all you have to do to enter is use at least one Funky Hand product and leave a link here to your creation so we can come and visit you and you could be the winner of a £20 Funky Hand voucher to spend on Funky Hand products....a great start to the new crafting year.
And as always.....we have some fabulous inspiration to share with you all from our Get Funky Design Team

ANICE.....used Festive Fun Digi Stamp images....resizing them and paper piecing with papers from "Funky Little Christmas" download....super cute or what and perfect for hanging from your mantlepiece or to decorate your tree.....and love those little pegs.

ALLISON..... has made a gorgeous wall hanging using papers from "Yule Be Funky" CD....images from Festive Fun Digi Stamps and alphabets from various Funky Hand products.......and I love the cute paperclips

AND IN CLOSE UP

DOLLY.........loving this decoration made with "Funky Christmas time" download...great for your mantlepiece or on your Christmas Table filled with yummy chocs...a modern twist on the traditional red and green

ENFYS......covered a silver ornament that she found in a dollar bin in the US using papers from "Blue Christmas Word Book" download and I love those cute little snow dudes cut with her Cricut

JULES....well what can I say....this is straight out of a magazine....gorgeous table decorations with papers from "Yule Be Funky" CD....I may just try and wangle an invitation to Jules' house for Christmas Lunch

KATHY......made a pillow box and a tag using papers from "Blue Xmas Word Book" download...absolutely stunning and something anyone would be over the moon to receive on Christmas morning......and she also made one of those curly bows......very clever

LYTHAN.....I absolutely adore this Christmas Tree decoration...so simple but so beautiful......paper from "Funky Seasons" CD printed onto acetate and decorated with a little bit of bling.....so easy to make lots of these and wouldn't they look gorgeous on your tree sparkling in the light.

RUTH......and wow how cool are these guys....."We Three Kings of Orient Are".......all from Ruth's own template using papers from "Funky Daze" CD....made using cut down loo roll inserts....us crafters throw nothing away

KATH...I made my wall decoration from 3 old CD's....the ones that you get free nearly every week with the Sunday newspapers....papers and letters from "Tis The Season Word Book" download and lots of bits and pieces from my stash.

We hope you will find loads of inspiration for some Christmas Fun and look forward to seeing what you all create this month......remember you have until 31st December to join in the challenge.
Happy Crafting
from Anice & the Design Team at Funky Hand

Get Funky Challenge November - Autumn Woodland

Thanks to all of you who joined in with our halloween challenge, we loved seeing all your creations, but now the clocks have gone back, dark nights are here, and it's time for the November Get Funky challenge, this is Enfys here setting this months challenge, for which I chose

AUTUMN WOODLAND

As usual you have a whole month to complete the challenge, just use at least one Funky Hand product, and you could be the winner of a £20 Funky Hand voucher at the end of the month, which would make a rather nice early Christmas pressie.

So the team have been busy printing off all those lovely autumny coloured papers - and believe me, there were so many to choose from - to make their samples. The card at the top of the post deserves a place up there, it's by Anice, and all the papers are from her brand new CD called Dreams Come True, to be released later in the year. This is the first glimpse any of us have had of these papers, and we have been promised some fantastic goodies on this CD, we are all really excitedly waiting for the release

Jozza made this really cute owl card, I love the way she used ribbon to mimic the trunk of the tree, and the paper, from The Funky One, is just perfect for the card design

Ruth (Tip Top) has been to rather a lot of weddings this summer, and she is very bravely making acrylic albums for all the newlyweds, and as one of the weddings had a autumny colour scheme, we are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of them here. The butterflies were place cards on the wine glasses at the wedding, and of course they went home with Ruth............

To be put on these fabulous acrylic pages

I love the colours that Kath chose, those soft earthy neutrals really suit her design, the twine looks just like twigs doesn't it? She used the Forest Walk papers from Funky Seasons

Lythan used this Kraft background for her fab card, great doodling and the different coloured half circles down the side are so creative..... the papers are American Fall from Funky Seasons

Look at the way Allison overlapped the edge of her card with these gorgeous leaves. This card is so full of natural elements and detail, we love it. The papers are from Funky Seasons
Dolly has been super creative, her card opens up.....................

to reveal a little recipe book of delicious winter soups - how clever is that?
Papers are from The Funky One - I think the pop of blue against the brown is a fabulous combo

My card (Enfys) has a bit of wobbly stitching, the tree was cut with the Winter Woodland cartridge on the Cricut machine, and the owl is a Studio G stamp. I used the American Fall papers from Funky Seasons

So snuggle up, get crafty and join us in the challenge. Leave a link to your blog in the comment box -the team love coming to see your creations. You have until November 30th to enter
GOOD LUCK

The first of the month again and that means time for another Get Funky Challenge.

A huge thanks to everyone who took part last month, it was great to see all the wonderful boy's cards for Ruth's challenge.

So onto this month's challenge which is set by me (Allison) and it's HALLOWEEN

The rules are very simple- a new challenge is set on the first of each month which gives you a whole month to Get Funky and the winner will receive a £20 voucher to spend at Funky Hand.

All you have to do to be eligible is to use at least one Funky Hand product on your project and link your post on your blog in the comment section.

So on the 31st of this month all the ghosties and ghoulies come out to play and I want to see all your wonderful bright, fiendish and scary creations.

The DT had a wonderful time making theirs and I hope you find some inspiration to get you started.

Anice used papers and alphabet from the Now That's Funky CD the Pumpkin Patch Collection and spent ages creating this wonderful beaded web for the spider.

Lythan used papers from the Now that's Funky CD to create this fab card with scary faces like the Scream painting or the masks used in the movie Scream.. eek!

Ruth used papers from the Its Funky Too CD to create this great treat box(check her blog out to see what's inside) and die cut ghosts suspended from acetate... think they look quite cuddly ghosts actually!

Enfys used papers from the Funky Seasons CD for her fab card and cut the letters Boo and the ghost using her cricut- a nice little sweet ghost with a surprised look on her face and a little bow in her ghostly hair... ahhh

Dolly used papers from The Funky One cd for her great card and attached BOO with acetate and of course her fab trade mark stitching and great skull.

Kath used papers and alphabet from the Salt and Pepper download for her fabby card.
And just look at that cheeky little spiders' face... cute or what

And finally mine (Allison) I used papers from the V Funky CD and made two cards and a little treat handbag

Get Funky! Challenge - September - Two Little Boys

It's September! And didn't August go fast?! It's the first of the month so it can only mean that it is time for a new Get Funky Challenge! I am hosting the September Challenge (not at all nervous!) and it is:

Two Little Boys
Both my boys have their Birthdays in September - Jacob will be 4 and Samuel will be 6.
So my challenge is to make a boy themed card, layout, project or what ever you fancy as long as it is aimed at a boy and uses a Funky Hand paper or extra.

The rules are very easy - each month a member of the Funky Hand Design Team sets a new challenge on the first of each month so you get a whole month to join in! To be eligible for the generous £20 gift voucher prize to spend on Funky Hand products you need to include one Funky Hand paper or extra in your design. And with oodles of choice in the shop, I think the hardest bit will be deciding what to use!

August was our very first challenge and we were stunned with the entries - you papercrafters have talent! I personally enjoyed visiting all the entries and leaving comments. I hope you can join in again this month!

The Design Team have created some wonderful examples to stimulate your creative juices, and who would have thought that boys cards can be so difficult to make?! Click on the DT names to be taken to their blog for more details.

Anice has used papers from the winter collection on Funky Seasons. I love the idea of using big numbers and Anice has inspired me to give it a go! A bit of doodling always finishes a card off!

Allison has used papers from V Funky and has textured the edges of the paper. Cute little images - and they do look like the boys! Nice touch with the paperclips too.

Carol has used papers from V Funky - the Spring Morning collection and an apt Dustin Pike image as Jacob does fly by the seat of his pants quite a lot! I like how all the colours complement each other.

Dolly has used the special charity collection Boys and Girls to make her big Funky gifts (this is also one of my favourite collections too!) You can only buy it from the Charity and its not available anywhere else.

Kath has used papers from It's Funky Too - perfect football papers for boys cards and the big letters are just perfect (something else I must try too!) Great minds think alike Kath!

Lythan has used Funky Seasons papers and dusted off her Quickutz dies for her two cards. I really like the idea of using the candles for numbers and doodling at its finest!

And finally, my cards (it's alphabetically ordered!) For Samuel's I have used papers from It's Funky Too - Anice's second cd and it's like revisiting an old friend when I open up the contents of the cd. And for Jacob's card I've used Now That's Funky. And yes the robots legs do move!

I think it's amazing how different all the cards are and how we've interpreted the brief, suiting our own styles. We are an established Design Team (Anice created us in April 2008) but I can never second guess what these fabulous ladies are going to make and I think you'll agree when I say that they have done me proud with my challenge!! So thank you girls - you ARE the best!

We hope you can join in with the challenge this month and we can't wait to see what you have made! And hope you have as much fun as we did! To enter, please leave a comment on this post with a link directly to your creation so we can all visit you and take a look at your interpretation.
Good luck!
