winter weddings....

Papers- Winter wedding.

Morning everyone! hope you are all enjoying a fabulous weekend.

I had a cool and funky wedding card request and the Winter Wedding papers were just perfect for the job!! I teamed them up with a squidge of kraft card and I love how this card came out. Those tight stripes are just fabulous and the texty paper is so much fun!

I cut the little hearts with my big shot and added them to the front with some punched corners and added a little bit of white pen doodley dots to the hearts to ping them out!

Thank you for popping in on us

Baby....

Sentiment- Large letters Baby.
Papers- Summer Wedding.
Morning everyone!
Its Lou here with a CAS share for you today. I love love love the Summer wedding download collection, and there's dots in there which I love to!! (..along with the fact that our gorgeous Anice makes all the colours in the collection go together so I know I can splodge any 2 papers on I fancy and they will go together..phew!!)

I also printed out the stripey paper and then popped it back into the printer for round 2 and printed the Large letters baby on it.

I doodled a few lines and kisses around the edge and that was it done. I do love a bit of a CAS card now and again and this collection makes that so easy.

Thank you for popping in on us

Summer Wedding card

Morning all,

It's Debbie here with a chance to see what I've made with the lovely new Funkyhand Summer Wedding papers download. They are at a brilliant price of £1.99 so why not treat yourself. They are so usable and not just for weddings. Here's my card:

You can also make your own embellishments from the papers like I have done. All I did was cut out some of the flowers from the off-cuts of paper and shape them with an embossing tool and a mouse mat.  Easy peasy and so effective.

I used a heart die and a border die too.  When I was blogging I  saw a pic of a wrap-around heart which I wanted to try out. It is also a little pocket too. All you have to do is fold a die cut heart in half and glue them together. We'd love you to join in with us here or on our facebook page.  It can be anything you've made using your fantastic Funkyhand goodies.

Have a great Sunday.

Hugs Debs x

Hug in a Mug

Hello All, Sammylou here. I hope you are all well and making the most of the sunshine.

Today I am sharing two cards I made using the fabulous Summer Wedding Downloads and the wonderful Hug in a Mug digi stamp. I am not fabulous at colouring (lots of practice needed) so chose to paper piece these instead.

Hug in a Mug No.1

Hug in a Mug No.2
All I added were some perfect pearls and a couple of die cut hearts. I love this digi, it's adorable and would be perfect for Thank you cards for Teachers. I know I'd much rather receive a mug of hearts over an apple any day!

The beauty of these downloads is their versatility but that's what Funky Hand do so well. Yes, they're perfect for all your Wedding Card needs but can be used for so, so much more.

So that's it from me x As always we would love to see what you've created with your Funky Hand purchases. Please link them below here or upload them to our Facebook page. Enjoy the sunshine and I will see you all next time, Sammylou xXx

One Sheet Magic

Hi there, Kathy here today with something I hope will inspire you to Get Funky and Craft this weekend!

There's something special about being able to create a cute little gift box from just one sheet of paper - I don't know why these things intrigue me so much, but they do, and when I came across this tutorial I knew I had to give it a go.
Here's the finished box

I thought that this little project would be a good excuse to do a little printing experiment too.  One of the extra special benefits of using Funky Hand downloads is that you get to play around a lot with trying out different papers to see what interesting effects you can achieve.  Have you ever tried printing on regular tracing paper, or on vellum for instance?  Just change the setting on your printer to "draft" or "fast" and give it a try - make sure you leave it to dry for a good while and you'll get the most beautiful, soft results - you can make some fab faux Washi tape this way.
Getting back to this particular experiment though.....
I love the textures of the various Bazzill cards so thought I'd see what happened when I used some white Bazzill cardstock to print some of the new - and absolutely gorgeous "Summer Wedding" designs on to.
Oh wow!
I am just so pleased with the results that I've only gone and bought a bulk pack of the stuff to do more Funky printing on! Obviously its more expensive that just using regular paper or card, but taking a little bit of care - and actually planning what I'm making (for a change) before I do the print run it works out just fine - especially as I can use the "trimmings" too
I cut my sheet of 12x12 down to size then printed on both sides so that my box is coloured on the inside too.  I cut the piece that was trimmed off the side in half then did some cropping and resizing of some other designs and printed on both sides of those too - great for the embellishments etc!

Materials and Tools
Funky Hand Summer Wedding Download, available HERE
Instructions for the gift box are HERE
Ribbon,  Cropadile. Tiny Font sticker letters, Flat-backed pearls,
Card Candy, Stickles

The flowers used here were cut from one of the paper designs which I'd cropped and resized to print just a few, but in large size
Here are a couple more photos of the finished box.  I hope you like it and will head off now to give it a try.

Here at Funky Hand's   "Get Funky and Craft blog" we love to try out Anice's wonderful image and paper downloads in different ways and we hope it shows just how versatile they are.
We'd really love to see what you use your Funky Hand stash for, so whaterver you make - please share your creativity by leaving a link - we'll come along to see what you've made and leave you a message if you do ;)

Happy Crafting

Fathers Day box...

Papers- Winter Wedding from Funky Hand.
Morning Peeps!!
I hope you are all waking up to a wonderful friday? I am. I have my hubby off for the day with me and some fathers day orders to get done so its the best kind of friday for me!! I am sharing this post on my blog today so thought I would pop it in here too!!

I thought I would share a little box I have made this morning. I have had a stash of favour boxes since scott and I got married, I think I bought 200! I just love little boxes so I knew they would come in handy and this one is winging its way to my day with some pennies in for fathers day.

The papers are from the awesome new Winter Wedding download ...proving its not just for weddings or winter :) and the little tie is from the Wishes and Kisses cd rom. I used the uncoloured one and printed the tie onto a scrap of the winter wedding papers I ad left. Then it was just some nifty snipping with my scissors to make the shirt collar before attaching the tie on.

The 'DAD' I made with some old flower stems I had left over from making a card the other day ( I always keep those nifty bits of wire from them just incase!!) I die cut my letters from more scraps of the winter wedding paper and glued them onto the sticks! I love that bit, it looks so much fun just seeing them standing up from the box!!!

Huge hugs Lou xx

Another Fab doodlewords

Hi all,

It's Debbie here for another Get Funky and Craft instalment.  I don't know about you but everytime I go to make a rosette I forget how wide to do do the strip for folding so off I go and check through my mags etc..... So I thought I'd put a few pics up to show you how I made mine.
I used the winter wedding papers and the 'you're having a baby doodlewords which will be released very soon here. A button, some bakers twine and card candi are all that I added.I also used a pram digital stamp from the Wishes and Kisses cdrom

Here's what I printed off for my card: 1 sheet of paper by dragging and dropping the digital papers and doodleword using a graphics program like Craft artist etc.
From an A4 sheet of paper I cut a strip - 1 and a half inches wide.
on my scoreboard I scored as shown above. Then did a concertina effect - valleys and folds.
Join each end together and trim any excess. So that it looks like the pic below.
Push the rosette down and glue a piece of card on the back to hold it in place.
And there you have it - your very own rosette.
We'd love to see anything you make using any funkyhand product.I'd really love to see you have a go at a rosette too.Why not show us either here by adding your link here or on our facebook page. we'd love to see what you create with any of the funkyhand products, so don't be shy!

New home doodlewords

Hi all,

It's Debbie here with a little preview of the new doodlewords which Anice has been beavering away to create for all us lovely crafters.  I have had a great time playing with them. I'm finding them so useful and I'm sure you will love them once they are released.
I've used the New Home doodleword and as you can see you can colour them, print them straight onto your backing papers or leave them as they are.So versatile.

I used the papers from the new - soon to be released 'Summer wedding' papers and printed the digital stamp doodlewords directly onto the paper,
I cut a square, a rectangle for the roof with a triangle off each side and an offcut for the chimney.
Then popped them on a card base and cut around the shape.
The flowers were cut out of the offcuts I used to make the roof and I shaped them.
My white sakura pen coloured some of the doodleword in and my fine liner was used for the faux stitching.

Why not show us either here by adding your link or on our facebook page. we'd love to see what you create with any of the funkyhand products, so don't be shy!

Simply Circles in 15 Minutes!

I've taken some inspiration from Sammylou's post a few weeks ago and I've also used Kathy's sketch to create my card!  Plus I also set myself a challenge of creating a card in under 15 minutes!

I've used papers from the soon to be released Summer Wedding download and cut different shaped circles with my Nesties.  I've inked the edges with blank ink and added a dotted line around the edges with a black fineliner pen.

I found a scoreboard that I got free with a magazine some time ago (I was actually looking for something else and came across it!) and used it to make the embossed lines around the edges of the card.

Ribbon is a generous donation from my cousin Claire - left overs from when she made her Wedding Stationery last year and the pearls are from my stash.

Rather surprised myself that I managed it in the 15 minutes as I never make cards that quick usually!  Try the time challenge yourself and link up your creation with the blue frog below!
