Princess Stepper Card

Hi all,

It's Debbie here to do a quick post of what I've made this week. I really fancied doing a different shaped card so decided on a A6 stepper card and I wanted to play with Little-princess craft papers download and this is what I came up with.

Now I've never made these flowers before so here are a few pics of how I did them. I'd seen them being done on a the telly so wanted to have a go.

Cut a strip of paper and cut into it like a I have leaving a band at the top to glue. It's a fringe effect.
Roll it up from one end to the other then tease the fringed papers out and you're left with this funky flower. You've probably seen it before but I enjoyed trying something new.

Why not try something new with your lovely Funkyhand papers etc. We'd love you to leave us a comment below telling us what you've made lately with your funkyhand products and if we've inspired you to try something new. You can also leave us a link to your blog here or on our Facebook page.

See you all soon.

Happy Happy Birthday Flutterby

Good Morning, Allison here for a bit of mid week inspiration.
I used a butterfly template to create my card blank then used some lovely blue papers from the Happy Happy Birthday CD to decorate and added some brown swirls, even the sentiment is cut from one of the papers.
Think it would be quite nice using dark brown, light blue and splash or red too so I might give that one a go too because no matter what colour paper you are looking for Funky Hand always comes up trumphs.
Remember to pop back at the weekend for some inspiration.

A Quick Male Card

Here is a little something to share with you - all the printed papers are offcuts and are from the Sleigh Ride download paper pack - so you see - Christmas papers can be used all year round!

I've used a Kraft card base and then added the papers, using recycled string and star die cuts along with a tag die cut.

The sentiment I've handwritten and its all layered up with foam pads.  I don't like to throw away my offcuts and I'm glad I saved these!  What do you make with your offcuts - why don't you show us!

Love Love Love Box and Card

Hello, hello! Tabbatha here today to show you a lovely candy box and card for the upcoming Valentine's Day. I love giving away sweets on holidays and with V-Day only a couple weeks away I thought this was a perfect opportunity to play with some fabulous Love Love Love Valentine's Day Themed downloadables.

For these creations, I used a trick that Kathy uses all the time - I printed the Love Love Love papers on some textured white cardstock. I printed it on a full A4 sheet, so that I could easily use my Silhouette to cut out the box shapes.

The papers printed out so well that the box looks über cute and totally profs with the clear window. :)

I used the same shapes and paper to create the card. I kept it simple, since the box is really the thing that I wanted to showcase. A pretty, sparkly bow adds a little bling, but not too much.

So, here are two, easy and pretty creations that totally showcase the Love Love Love papers. Perfect for Valentine's day or any other day that you want to give someone special a reminder just how much you love them. :D

Trick for shading when colouring with Promarkers

Hi everyone,
Anice here. I'm back for my monthly post for the Get Funky Blog. This time I thought I would share with you  a really clever, and very easy, tip for when you are colouring in your digital stamps. This is not my idea, I saw it when I was browsing on some craft sites a while back.  I can't for the life of me find the post to give appropriate thanks.  I will keep looking and if I find it I will come back and update this post.

OK, on to the tutorial.  I'm still learning how to use my Promarkers for colouring and something I have struggled with is 'What part of the image would have light hitting it and what would be in shade?' As I said I found this little tip and it has helped me.

What the heck is this? I hear you ask. (If you look closely you will be able to see me taking the picture hehe!)  A piece of acetate with a sun drawn in one corner and 'rays of light' drawn from it using a permanent marker pen.  Stay with me all will become clear soon.

I printed two of the same digital stamps, in this case Bot Fire Away on to my chosen colouring paper. Then I placed the 'sun' acetate over the top of the one on the left with the sun facing him.  Straight away you can see    where the sun would hit him and where the colours should be lighter and where in shade.

The right hand side Bot I placed the sun behind him.  You could place the 'sun' anywhere above underneath to one side or the other it wouldn't matter, you will still get the same information about where the light would hit him.

I decided to colour Bot with blues, if you are interested which ones I'll mention it later in the post. Now, as I said I'm still learning, so give me a little space over the standard of colouring!  Here is the left hand side Bot with the sun in front of him.

And here is Bot with the sun behind him..

And here there are together with just the robot bodies coloured..

It's interesting that they are the same image but they look a bit different with the shading in different places, maybe it's just me.  What do you think?

Here are the Promarkers I used to colour Bot.

Frozen Lake (Limited Edition Winter) Pastel Blue, Denim Blue and a Blender pen.

Here's how they looked once they were both finished.

I told you it was a simple idea.  Let me know what you use to help you decide about shading when you are colouring your digital stamps/stamps. I'd love to know.

Thankyou Card & Small Gift Box

Morning all, Tammy here, its my first ever post on here for Funkyhand so please bear with me and I will try to not do anything wrong or break the blog!

Today I wanted to share a couple of little makes I made using one of the images from  FlutterbyFlowers and papers from Hearts and Flowers.

I made up this cute little card (5x5’) using the papers from Hearts and flowers, they go beautifully together and even better when teamed with the lovely butterfly from the Flutterby Flowers collection. I added a small bow also made up from the coordinating papers and added some gems to finish.

Next up I made this cute little 2.5x2.5 inch box, I used my envelope punch board to make it up but it fits a small packet of Haribo perfectly! I used the offcuts from making the above card so hardly any paper was wasted!

They look great together and make a cute little gift, maybe for the childrens teachers at the end of term, or maybe just for a friend to say thankyou!

Thats all from me today, thankyou for reading, I hope you like my projects!

See you next time!

Tammy xx

Happy Birthday..

Hi everyone.

My very first inspiration post here on the blog and i'm delighted to be here.
Ive made a little card to share for a bit of inspiration today.

Ive used the "Happy Birthday" doodle word as well as  the

I am well know for loving all things vintage and distressed and I decided to show that, that style works real well, even with a fun and funky image.

The backing paper already have little "bubbles" on it, but to accentuate them a bit more, and to really distress the papers, I stamped over the paper witha bubble stamp. I stamped using distress inks, and then sprayed with water.
It made the stamping "run" so i simply dried it with my heatgun.

This little butterfly is indeed a Funky Hand Image as well.
It is indeed from the "Flutterby Flowers" digital stamp pack.

I simply printed and cut out. Then gave it a good smudge of the same distress ink I used on the card, sprayed with water, and again dried with the heatgun till fully dry.
As the colour fully dried, it changed colour.

Finished my card with a few gems and Voila...

And that is it from me today. I hope you liked what Ive made.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.
