Anything Goes Using Funky Hand!

Hello, it's Sammylou here and this is my first ever blog for Funky Hand - and I'm so excited and nervous all rolled into one but I'm going to try and offer some inspiration for this month's Get Funky Challenge.

The theme is Anything Goes so let your imagination run wild. All we ask is that you use a Funky Hand product in your creation. And don't worry if you don't own any Funky Hand products, Anice has created a fantastic freebie for you to use.

For this challenge I created an exploding box card and matching candle to celebrate the birth of a baby girl. I used the Wishes and Kisses CD-rom. All the images used and the exploding box template are included, you just have to choose what paper you'd like! I printed a matching sentiment onto tracing paper and transferred it onto the candle using a heat gun. An incredibly simple yet effective techinque.

The fabulous prize is a download of your choice so what are you waiting for? Get creating and join in the Funky Hand fun! Click on the Add Link button to be entered. If you haven't got a blog then you can enter via the facebook page instead.

Good luck everyone and I can't wait to see what you come up with, love Sammylou xXx

Anything Goes using Funky Hand Products

It's my turn (Ruth) to provide some inspiration for this months challenge:

Anything Goes with Funky Hand Products

Please remember that you can make ANYTHING you like as long as you've used a Funky Hand product within your creation.  If you've not got anything, then you can snag the freebie that Anice offers each month which fits in with the challenge theme.

The winner gets to choose a Funky Hand download!

I've made something a little different!  I've used papers from Wishes and Kisses and printed them directly onto some photo transfer paper, cut them up using a Union Jack Template and created this:

It's a double sided canvas bag with a Funky Union Jack design!  The size of the Union Jack is A5 so I printed 3 different patterned papers onto the Tshirt Transfer Paper, cut them down to A5 and then used a Union Jack template (google is good!) to cut them out (I layered the three sheets together and took my time!)

I laid out the three papers and swopped elements over - the third one I made as a bag for myself!

A hot iron and a flat surface - worktop - and it was finished fairly quickly!  For more details, pop over to my blog!

Good luck with the challenge - and don't forget to use a FUNKY HAND PRODUCT!

This month at Get Funky the lovely lou has set an easy peasy lemon squeezy theme of "Anything Goes Using Funky Hand"  How simple is that? Anything you can think of so long as it uses a Funky Hand item on it!! And if you haven't got any Funky Hand stash then Anice has made a lush Funky Freebie backing paper click here to download it.

My card was made with the gorgeous jaquard paper from the Wishes and Kisses cd rom. The image is also on the cd.  This has to be my favourite paper on the cd and wow it looks lush in all the different colours, there's one perfect for any occassion.

Please remember we only have one rule here at get Funky ~ to use at least one Funky Hand item on your make.  The prize is the download of your choice, and as you know there are loads to choose from!

Nothing like getting it wrong!

Well here is the last installment of this months Get Funky July challenge Design Team inspiration cards from me Anice. This is a fine example of what not to do! As I haven't followed the challenge outline at all! Oops! Take a look and see what I did wrong..

The challenge is to use a number and no images...I meant to put 'You 4 Me' but for some reason I have completely forgotten the number bit and just wrote me and you!?

So this final inspiration card is a fine example of what NOT to do when you enter our challenge this month! But as I'd left it till the last moment ,as usual, to make my card. I thought I would share it with you anyway!! Doh!

The card was made using all the papers and lettering from the Colour Me Happy CD This is the second Papercraft Factory craft CD release and I'm afraid I rather ignore it these days but going back to it for this challenge card I have realised that it contains come really great papers, colour collections and digital stamps.  If you have it take another look at it.  If you don't have it yet..you're missing out!

OK so after seeing my incorrect challenge card you have a couple of days to do better than me and make a card for this challenge and win a Funky Hand download collection as a prize for winning. The new challenge starts on the 15th so all you need to remember is to include at least one Funky Hand paper, stamp, digital stamp whatever you have Funky Hand in your stash.  If you don't have anything at the moment then go to my website www.funkyhand.com and download the Funky Freebie backing paper that is there to help you.

Right, just a couple of days to go lets see what you can come up with!!

Your Number is Very Nearly Up!!!

Hi,
Kathy here today with my project for Jackie's challenge which is called:

"Just a number!"

Jackie's allowing us to use text too -  but no images this time!
Although the one rule here on Get Funky! is that you must use at least one Funky Hand product, as usual Anice has prepared a fabulous Funky Freebie so that even if you haven't yet caught on to the delights of Funky Hand, you  can grab the freebie now and join in straight-away!.
Remember:
The only rule is to use at least 1 Funky Hand product to have a chance of winning this months prize of a fantastic download.

It's a card from me this time - mainly because I've been asked a few times lately for 40th birthday cards - so next time I get such a request I'll have one at the ready.  If I remember....!

These paper designs are from the latest Funky Hand CD Wishes & Kisses   and I think they are super-stylish in this black and white colourway - nice and easy too, to pick a paper or two from one of the other colour collections to add a bit of contrast,
You see how the background looks like two pieces of paper?  Well its actually just one!  The clever Papercraft Factory workspace facility allows you to resize the papers before printing - so I chose 4 papers, dragged them to fit all four on the page, making sure that the ones I wanted to use together were side by side, with no gap between.  Once printed I cut off the section for the background,  "topped and tailed" it to fit my card and adhered it in place.
Another quarter of my paper was used for the upper section.  Before die-cutting with a Nesties Labels die I adhered the paper to a piece of card.  I trimmed it on two sides, then used a smaller die to cut the aperture.  I added a scrap of white card to the main card where the little aperture would be, then tied the ribbon around the die cut and fixed the piece in place with some foam tape.
The numerals and flower are cut from the 4th quarter or my paper, this pretty dusky pink shade is from the "Its the Big Day" colour-way, whilst the other 3 are all from the "In Sympathy"  collection
I cut the numerals with my Craft Robo and adhered them to the white scrap behind the aperture
I used:
Funky Hand CD Wishes & Kisses  papers from "In Sympathy"
and "Its the Big Day" collections
Spellbinders Nesties Labels die set
Tonic flower punch
Hand cut coiled rose
Seam binding, mirror gems, Stickles Glitter Glue

There's loads of inspiration from the rest of the Funky Hand team for this challenge - just scroll back to see all the ideas.  There's still Anice's project to come before the end of this Funky Fifteenth month - which means there's not many days left for you to get your project linked and be in with a chance of winning our monthly prize - but don't forget to use that all-important Funky Hand product or you won't even get the chance to win.

Happy, Funky Crafting

And Another From Me!

I'm back with another sample for this months challenge which is:

Words or Numbers (no images)

Now I do like my wordbooks and I get a lot of requests to make them and I also like to do my own thing with them so although I've used Funky Hand papers (Funky Daze cd) I've actually created the letters on the pc and then cut them out before adding to the wordbook pages.

This one is for a 50th Birthday and its one of the longest wordbooks I've made with 9 letters!  I've glittered around the letters and made bunting with offcuts of card and handwrote the letters.

The 50 are diecuts and I've added seed beads for a bit extra sparkle and lashings of glossy accents!  Ribbon and embroidery thread from my stash.

So now, over to you!  Don't forget that you MUST use a Funky Hand product in your creation to be in with a chance of winning and if you don't have anything Funky Hand then there is the freebie to download which always ties in with the challenge.

And if you fancy treating yourself, Funky Daze is only £7.99 for the cd and it's one of my favourites!

Good luck with the challenge - not long left to enter so be quick!

18th Birthday!

Hi all,

It's my turn to show you what I've made for Jackie's challenge this month which is
"Just a number!
It's okay to use text but no images this time.Anice has prepared a fabulous Funky Freebie so if you don't have any Funky Hand products grab this now and join in.
The only rule is to use at least 1 Funky Hand product to have a chance of winning this months prize of a fantastic download.
I used papers and numbers from the new Wishes & Kisses cd for both the card and the rosette, decided to have a play with paper folding and it worked - I love it when that happens.
I've got a few 18th birthdays coming up this year as my daughter turns 18 so decided to get a head start.  Oh to be 18 again....

Remember to check out all the Funky inspiration from the rest of the Funky Hand team.

That's all for now. We'll look forward to seeing what you create!

Love Debbie x
