Hello, and welcome to the Get Funky and Craft Blog. The card I'm going to share with you today is one I created for last months (June) Creative Crafting Magazine. I wanted to share it with you to show that your cards don't have to have lots of colour to make an impact on the person receiving it.
Here it is..
I created this using a white 6" x 6" white base card. The papers are from the Funky Hand, Salt and Pepper download collection. I knew I wanted to add Card Candi and I decided to add them in a circle but the circle would be partially covered up by the rest of the card elements. To do this, before I started making the card I drew a circle in pencil on the white base card. I actually used a roll of ribbon that was the right size! But you can use whatever you like to make the initial circle.
Then I added all the other card elements. Once they were glued down and dry I then spaced out my Candi along the exposed pencil lines. The Card Candi used on this card was Ritz.
I added them to the card using double sided foam pads. I needed to cut the foam pads I used into half but it was simple to use my craft knife to do this. Then I rubbed out the pencil line. With the Candi added on foam pads getting in between them when rubbing out the pencil was easy as they moved away a little so the erasure could get nicely in between.
The topper for this card was made using the Doodlewords Thank You digital stamp. The great thing about these digital stamps is that you can match the colours perfectly to the papers or embellishments you choose to use.
As the backing papers are back and white I coloured this digital stamp with Promarker colours, black, Cool Grey 1 and Cool Grey 4. The white was obviously the white of the card that I printed the digi on.
I hope that this post has given you a little inspiration. As always we would love to hear from you and to see any cards that you create using any Funky Hand product or even things you were inspired to create from the things you have read about on this blog.
Share your cards on the linky below and let us all see and visit your blog if you have one. Don't be put off if you don't have a blog or are not sure how to add your picture. You can send the picture to me on the contact us email contact at funkyhand.com and I'll sort out popping it on here for you.
Oh, by the way must share with you where I got the idea for this card from. It is a sketch from Kathys Waffle Sketch File. This one is from the The June Sketch. Pop over there and get some wonderful sketch ideas.
