Hi there, it's Kathy here with the Funky Hand Weekend Inspiration slot!
If you've seen any of my recent posts here and on my own blog, you'll probably be aware that one of my very favourite things at the moment is printing the lovely Funky Hand designs papers out onto textured Bazzill card. After trying this out and liking the results, I went hunting on the internet looking for the best prices, and found there were good deals on buying a pack of 25 sheets at a time. Lets face it, you can never have enough white Bazzill.
A4 packs are available but they were out of stock at the time so I bought 12x12 and cut the extra strip off the side of the sheets. A little hunt through my printer settings and I found that I could set a custom paper size that meant I could print on the discarded strips too if I cut them in half :) I just needed to crop the paper designs down to fit and hey presto! no waste at all!
I know I keep banging on about how fab it is to be able to crop and resize Funky Hand papers, but it's true - it may seem daunting at first but it's worth getting to grips with your graphics package and your printer settings because you will soon be customising your Funky stash and really making the most of it all.
Another way to make the most of your print runs is to find ways to use all those itty bitty scraps you end up with. Using the Bazzill card does mean I want to get the most from every bit of card I print where before I would (shock horror) throw the unused bits away once the pile had grown a bit too high!

So today I'm sharing one of my "Scrappy Cards" - it's actually a lot of fun working out how to make the smallest pieces of paper turn into something pretty - and often I find I like these creations the best. I really like this card and I hope you do too.
It's just made from 2 sizes of punched hearts and a die cut swirl, cut from some paper left over after I'd made a gift box (I'll show you that in a minute, just to prove it hehe) I've added some matching satin ribbon from my stash and a pearl also left over from the box-making project.
I didn't stick won the die cut flourish completely - the little "fronds" above the ribbon are all loose from the card and the tiny hearts adhered to them bounce a little when the card is moved.
The flower is made from layers of the punched hearts too
Materials and Tools
Pearl inked to match the papers, Ribbon
2cm heart punch, 6mm heart punch, Memory Box Flourish die
As promised, here is a photo of the box project that I was using the left-overs from - it measures about 7cms across at the widest part, and is about 4cms deep.

That's it for this time, thanks for popping by :)
