Hellooooo, Kathy here today with my "Happy Happy Birthday" project.
I've made a birthday card taking inspiration from the gift and the bunting images that form part of the digi image collection on Funky Hand's brand new CD "Happy Happy Birthday". I've also used lots of the papers from the "Sunshine Birthday" set on the CD plus Anice's Fab Funky Freebie for this month
I started out by loading 6 paper designs on to the Workspace
I printed this whole page directly onto some smooth white 320gsm card, then I made another full sheet of different papers, this time with only 2 designs in the top half of the workspace and printed this one out on the reverse of the first sheet. The blank space that was left was cunningly saved for printing the Funky Freebie in a couple of different sizes.
I made a Craft Robo template using the GIFT image from the CD, but it would be easy enough to cut by hand too - I'm just not sure I'd have the patience to cut 6 of them!
For each gift there are the following layers
base *gift* piece
the crossed ribbon piece
a complete bow section including the tails
just the loops of the ribbon
the knot
Just assemble and stick together with dots of glue - I left the loopy ends of the ribbon loose so that I could fold them up slightly.
Then it's just a case of deciding on the layout, I tried 2 rows of 3 gifts and a "pyramid" style pile of them before deciding on a corner pattern with some bunting in the other corner. The bunting is just cut from scraps and glued on to a couple of overlapping wiggly lines hand-drawn onto the card, but there's a cute "ready-to-wear" image on the CD as well as a blank, uncoloured version ready to be printed on to your choice of paper, or coloured in with pens of your choice.
Did you spot the Funky Freebie? It's the spotty design of course. You can see how I changed the size of the downloadable paper before printing to get different sized spots.

This is a great layout and a cheery card made using the new CD. It would certainly have been a labour of love to hand cut all those parcels and ribbon pieces.
ReplyDeleteThis is just wonderful Kathy. Thanks for showing us how you got all the papers onto one page using the workspace on the CD. Theres nothing like saving ink & still making the great card you want!

Hey Hey Kathy - I did a Christmas tree of parcels as one of my new launch samples but DID cut them all by hand... I'm not as clever as you on the craft robo - I do admire your ability with the robo!!! This is a lovely and colourful card - great inspiration to other crafters out there.
