It's a Gift

Hellooooo, Kathy here today with my "Happy Happy Birthday" project.
I've made a birthday card taking inspiration from the gift and the bunting images that form part of the digi image collection on Funky Hand's brand new CD "Happy Happy Birthday".  I've also used lots of the papers from the "Sunshine Birthday" set on the CD plus Anice's Fab Funky Freebie for this month

I started out by loading 6 paper designs on to the Workspace
I printed this whole page directly onto some smooth white 320gsm card, then I made another full sheet of different papers, this time with only 2 designs in the top half of the workspace and printed this one out on the reverse of the first sheet.  The blank space that was left was cunningly saved for printing the Funky Freebie in a couple of different sizes.
I made a Craft Robo template using the GIFT image from the CD, but it would be easy enough to cut by hand too - I'm just not sure I'd have the patience to cut 6 of them!
For each gift there are the following layers
base *gift* piece
the crossed ribbon piece
a complete bow section including the tails
just the loops of the ribbon
the knot
Just assemble and stick together with dots of glue - I left the loopy ends of the ribbon loose so that I could fold them up slightly.
Then it's just a case of deciding on the layout, I tried 2 rows of 3 gifts and a "pyramid" style pile of them before deciding on a corner pattern with some bunting in the other corner.  The bunting is just cut from scraps and glued on to a couple of overlapping wiggly lines hand-drawn onto the card, but there's a cute "ready-to-wear" image on the CD as well as a blank, uncoloured version ready to be printed on to your choice of paper, or coloured in with pens of your choice.
Did you spot the Funky Freebie?  It's the spotty design of course.  You can see how I changed the size of the downloadable paper before printing to get different sized spots.
You can download this fab paper HERE

We'd love to see your creations for Jenny's Funky Fifteenth challenge this month - you've almost the whole month left to join in with us and be in with a chance of winning a free Funky download collection of your choice.

At the Seaside Winner

Many apologies for the delay in choosing the winner from the challenge competition 'At the Seaside'.  The response was quite overwhelming, so it's been a little difficult to choose the winner from so many cards entered via Mr frog!!!

In that time old tradition of picking the winner of a competition, I am delighted to be able to announce the winner of the 'At the Seaside' funky challenge last month, which ran from the 15th August, right up until 11pm on 14th September.  While I am here, I would like to thank my Design Team buddies for pulling out all the stops for their inspirational cards too and hope you enjoyed the challenge as much as we did.

My winning entry for my challenge is No. 8 Rachel Webber with her lovely Hippo card.

Thank you to all those who entered the challenge with their cards, however, unfortunately some of the entries did not meet the only stipulation we make in the challenge and that is to include at least one Funky Hand element in their entries.  I would urge all participants to read all posts made by the design team during each monthly challenge as they constantly remind everyone to use at least one element, be it a stamp you bought from us (Our Betty), a digi stamp (found on all of our Papercraft Factory discs and some downloads), a design paper (Anice has had many backing paper CD's out so there are loads to choose from there) or there are numerous downloads on the website - not forgetting the freebie that Anice kindly designs and gives away each month.

I hope you have managed to read the post all about the new challange and hope to see some of your enties in within the next few days.

Congratulations again to 'Rachel' - please get in touch with Anice whose details are in the sidebar  for your winning prize.

My other top three entries for this challenge are:

No. 4 Angela
No. 5 Hilde
No.12 Ruby

Would these ladies please contact Anice (details in the sidebar) for thier blinkies please.

Apologies once again for the delay in my announcement of the winning entries, but hope it was worth waiting for! Take care and hope to see many many entries for this months challenge with the lovely Jenny with 'Birthday Fun'.

Until next time,

Time to get funky & happy with a new challenge!

Hi Funky Hand Fans!

Jenny here and I have a 'Get Funky' challenge for you!  Every month on the 'funky fifteenth' we set you all a brand new challenge for the month and this time it is...

Birthday Fun!!!

With the launch of the brand new Funky Hand Papercraft Factory CD 'Happy Happy Birthday' just a few days ago we couldn't really go for anything else but birthdays this month! ;)

So that's absolutely ANYTHING birthday related and you MUST use at least ONE Funky Hand element to be entered for the prize.  Don't have anything Funky Hand?  Well there's no excuse as you can head straight over here and get your mitts on this month's incredibly fun & funky freebie!!!

To launch the challenge I've made a wordbook...

I've used the Pressie Time collection on Happy Happy Birthday.  Now, I have to make a big admission...this was my first ever wordbook!!!  And I have to say I'm now hooked!  These are so much fun & a dream to make.  So much easier than they look - and yet so very, very much admired & effective.  I've printed on both sides of my pages - just printed out the front of the wordbook then the chosen coordinating paper from the same collection on the reverse side.  I've attached my pages with a piece of twine & I cut out lots of stars from one sheet of printed paper to decorate all of the pages - and it wouldn't have been complete without a good old amount of glitter on these stars!!!

I do hope you like my very first wordbook!  Please keep checking back here over the month - every few days a new Funkette will be along with a fun Birthday make for you!  I look forward to seeing all of your entries!  Please enter via the linky below and you have until Midnight GMT on 14th October to enter!

Before I go I've just time to remind you that Anice is on Create and Craft TV today showcasing Happy Happy Birthday - tune in at 9am & 4pm to see what all the Birthday Fun is about!

Stay Funky!
Jenny
