Hi Funky Hand Followers
Kathy here today with my project for Amanda's lovely Funky Fifteenth Autumn themed challenge
Amanda said:
"Here in Scotland the weather (as always) has been lousy but we are seeing some really beautiful changes in the trees, there have been some really gorgeous coloured leaves blowing around in the wind. So with that in mind I have chosen Autumn as this month's theme, make of that whatever you will. Autumn colours, Autumn images, Halloween, whatever you like as long as I can see something Autumnal in there I'll be a happy wee panda!!"
As usual there's a prize of a fabulous free download on offer to one lucky winner this month - as long as you remember our one Golden Rule it could be you who wins it.
The one Golden Rule is:
Whatever you make, it must feature at least one Funky Hand product
To make that a really easy rule to stick to, Anice has produced a wonderful new Funky Freebie - it's only available for one month and is absolutely perfect for the Autumn theme. - so that will make it easy for anyone to join in, even those who don't have any Funky Hand stash (yet)
Here's my little note block project for this month - I've made loads of these over the last couple of years, they're cheap and easy to make, and they are really useful to keep by the phone or on your desk - they make great little gifts too. You wouldn't believe they start out life as an empty cereal packet, would you? You can get the note blocks to put in them for about 50p each (check out Wilkinson's or Tesco)- and you can divide them up to make 2 or even 3 note blocks.
One of the many fab things about The Funky Hand downloads and CDs is that once you've bought them they are there to use as much as you like - so you can print as many sheets as you need to do a project - great for cards, but wonderful for larger projects such as albums, notebooks, gift boxes etc. It doesn't matter if you mes up, or if you need more than one sheet - you can just print some more!
The papers I've used are all from the Craft the Year Away cd. I've used three designs on this noteblock. I've used bits left over from covering the cereal packet base and cover to make some little coiled flowers for the top.
Once the basic cover is made it's time to go as mad as you like with ribbons, flowers, brads and buttons to decorate the top. I always leave sticking the inside paper to the cover till all the decorative bits are done - this way the ends of the ribbon, any messy stitches and brad prongs etc are covered over and out of sight.
The very last thing is to add some glitter and Glossy Accents (which you can find in the Funky Stash section of the Funky Shop at the brilliant price of £4.95, btw! For this note block I added glitter to the "notes" label (cut on my Craft Robo), and also to the buttons. I like to seal in the glitter with another coat of Glossy Accents.
I hope you like my project this month and that it helps show how versatile Funky Hand CDs and Downloads are.
We're looking forward to seeing what your Autumn themed projects will be, so please come back and leave us a link when you're ready to share - don't forget to use that Funky Hand Product though or you won't have any chance of winning a prize!
Thanks for looking - it'll be Debs along next with her Autumnal project for your delight and delectation, so pop by on the 21st to see what she's got in store for you!
Happy Crafting
Kathy
