New Funky Challenge - Boys Boys Boys!

It's the fifteenth of the month so its time for a new Get Funky challenge! And I (Ruth) am your hostess for this month and I have picked the theme of:

Boys, Boys, Boys!

So anything male related be it for the little or big boys in your life! Please remember that you need to use at least one Funky Hand product in your creation but if you don't have anything, don't worry as Anice has designed another freebie that you can find on the download section of the website which fits perfectly with the challenge theme! So no excuses!

Both my boys have their Birthday's in early September and this year I WILL be organised as I've made their cards for this challenge!

As I really enjoy making word books I thought this would be perfect - Samuel's has been made with papers from Funky Daze (bargain at £7.99!) and I've created the letters by using wordart, double layered them and added to the pages. The little stars are from a punch and I've added a faux stitch around the letters for definition.

Jacobs has been made in the same way but with papers from Now That's Funky (another bargain at £7.99!) and I've added some stars from the freebie download. I printed the sheet to fit twice onto A4 so that the stars were small enough to use over the letters. The stars have had the glossy accents treatment too!

I found the raffia in my cupboard when looking for something else - I knew when I bought it that it would come in handy one day!

Now I just need to keep them in a safe place until September. And what's the odds that I forget where I've left them?!

Good luck with the challenge! You have until midnight GMT on 14 August to enter and please remember to use a Funky Hand product and to link directly to your blog post via the blue frog below!

Another Funkette will be along in a few days for more inspiration!

Roll out the red carpet here's the winner..

Thank you to everyone who took time to enter this months Get Funky Sketch challenge. Unfortunately there can only be one winner and that winner is.....

Thank you very much for all your fab contributions. Debbie please contact me through the Contact Us page on my website www.funkyhand.com and once I have your email address I will send you your code to get your choice of Funky Hand download collections free.

Now get ready for the new Funky 15th Challenge from Ruth who is in charge this month.

Lou gets sketchy!!

 Morning funky peeps!!

Its my turn to post the little roboty card I made using the fab sketch from da boss!!!! if you haven't already seen the original post from our very own Anice here it is......

Its a great sketch to work with and there are oodles of possibilities which the funkettes have been busy posting throughout the month.
You still have a few more days to get busy with one to join in with the fun and don't forget that if you don't own any funky hand papers yet, Anice makes a Funky Freebie each month so you can use that and be in with the chance to win yourself a download to play with for next months challenge!!! :)

So onto my little cutie pie robot! I used the Craft the Year Away papercraft factory and its November Rain colour way for most of my card, and sneaked in a little bit of the fabulous cog paper from the Funky Seasons cd.

The little teeny cog at the bootom of the flap is holding down a cute little surprise down there....
Awwww and here he is on a cute little springy thingy so he just pops out at ya when you open the flap. (Needless to say, Little mo loved this card and promptly stole it!!!!!)

I made the 'Have a robotastic birthday' paper ribbon in the workspace part in  Craft The Year Away, its so cool, and I love that you stll don't have to worry about what colours to useas Anice co-ordinated them too when she did all the designing, she is sooooo smart!!! I added a bit of black ink to everything and hey presto!!!

So, please come and join in the fun this month, we love to see your creations. All you need to do is get busy with your funky hand papers or the freebie I mentioned earlier and then add your take on Anice's sketch using our magical little linky below...easy!!!!

Thank you for popping in on us! hugs Lou xx

GET FUNKY! SKETCH

Hi Everyone

Jules here with my take on Anice's gorgeous sketch!!  Thanks Anice xx

I don't know about you but I love working with a sketch .. ..
it takes half of the thinking and planning out of making a project .. ..
and also encourages you to do something that is probably
a little different to your normal layout style!!

All of the Funkettes have had a fun time with the sketch
and I hope you have had chance to see what everyone has come up with.

One sketch and so many different ideas!!

Here is my take on the sketch

and here is Anice's lovely sketch

The papers I have used have come from one of the original CD's .. .. .. V.Funky

Don't you just love the way the green and lilac papers looked like they have been embossed?
But they haven't .. that is how they look when you print them out!!  Just gorgeous.

You can find the V.Funky CD here.

The only thing that wasn't from the CD is the heart .
This was cut on my Cricut machine from a leftover piece of kraft card.
It was then run through my Cuttlebug inside an embossing folder which had previously
been rubbed with an ink pad to give the heart a bit of a grungy look.
I then just rubbed the same ink pad around the edges.

There is still time for you to play along and make a creation using Anice's sketch .. ..
and you might even end up as the winner of a download of your choice!!!
You don't have to make a card.  It can be an ATC, a scrapbook layout, a tag .. ..
whatever you fancy providing we can see the sketch in what you have made.

The only rules are that you have to use at least one Funky product on your creation .. ..
but if you don't have any then don't panic .. ..
there is a free paper you can use which you will find here.

I hope you have chance to play along and link up .. ..
the challenge is open until the 14th July
so plenty of time to Get Funky!!

Have a good weekend everyone

Love Jules xx

Get Funky with our sketch challenge

Hiya, it's my (Jackie) to add my cards to the post. I actually made two as we were introduced to a yummy new download from Anice. Anyway, it's the bosses (Anice) turn to set the challenge this month and as you will see from previous posts she has given us a sketch to work with. It is up to you how you interpret the sketch but we MUST be able to see it, turn it on it's side, use it upside down, it's up to you, as long as we can see the basic sketch.  Also  you need to use at least one Funky Hand product but there is a new Funky Freebie paper, as always, on the website www.funkyhand.com just incase you don't own any Funky Hand products yet.

So now for the sketch
And my cards

This first card was created using papers and a digital image from the Funky Hand CD Colour Me Happy and the second one was made using the latest download collection Tea's Up. Hope you like them and will play along with us again this month. Add your project to the link below and we can pop by and see what you have been up to.
