Please remember: You MUST use at least ONE Funky Hand Product to join in with our challenges!
Hi there,
Kathy here today with my project for Lou's January Blues challenge here on Get Funky!
This month I've made a little Gift Card holder - these are simple to make and a more personal way to present those credit card style gift tokens that many places use these days. It's also easy to adapt to use for other sizes of token and vouchers once you know the basic method.
To make my wallet I've used this month's Fabulous Funky Freebie Paper.
Other Funky Hand products used:
Blue Magic papers from CD Dreams Come True
Gift image from CD Happy Happy Birthday
"Gift" sentiment is created in the Papercraft Factory's "writer" facility
Materials:
1 sheet of 12x12" Bazzill type card
Funky Hand papers
Ribbon or cord for closing
Glue or double sided tape
1. Cut a 10cm (4") strip from a plain coloured piece of 12x12 scrapbook card such as Bazzill
2. Fold in half as shown
3. Using the Gift Card as a guide, cut a slit in the fold line as shown by the orange Xs in the diagram to make a slot long enough for your gift card to fit through
4. Now make the Valley Folds at 10cms (4ins) from each end
You should now have something that looks like this:
5. Add a narrow line of glue (or double sided tape) to seal each end of the middle section - just a 1cm wide strip is enough. Press the inside section together to form something like this:
6. Now it's time to decorate, but make sure that your first task is to cut a strip of Funky Hand paper to fit right around the wallet, this will seal the folded end of the wallet so that the gift card won't just go straight through! Once that's done you can cover the inside too and add whatever closure or decorative elements you want.
I hope you like this project and will have a go at making one of these yourself.
There are still a couple of days left to join in with the January Blues challenge but don't forget, your project will only count if you use at least one Funky Hand product to make it - you'll have no chance of winning our monthly prize if you don't take notice of that one simple rule ;).
Even if you don't have any Funky Hand stash (yet) you can still join in by using the Funky Freebie
Happy Crafting
Kathy xx
