Silent Night Gift Box

it's Kathy here to share a little box made with papers from the "Silent Night" collection - one of two  wonderful Funky Hand Christmas sets for this year.

Silent Night is a beautiful paper set of warm and subtle traditional colours and the funky edge you've come to expect from Anice's designs

This box was made in the same way as a heart shaped one I made earlier in the year.  It's much simpler than it looks as all you need are some Funky Hand designs printed on both sides of some Bazzill or other card of similar weight, some Spellbinders dies and some thicker card - such as an old cereal box.

A peek inside shows why I print on both sides of the card
All Papers: Silent Night by Funky Hand
Next time I'm here I'll post a little tutorial on how to make the box.
Of course the most fun bit is decorating it and I've used the soft creamy coloured design from "Silent Night"  to cut a whole load of different snowflake shapes, added some glitter and layered them up on top of the box.  Adding some cream organza ribbon and some gold and red berries finishes this festive gift box.
I hope you like it

Don't forget to link up your Funky Hand creation with the linky below - we'd love to come and visit you!

See you soon.

Some more Spooky Dookie!

I thought I'd continue on with the spookiness started by Allison and show you how I made this...

Into this...

Using this...

Spooky Dookie, halloween themed downloadable backing papers.

It really is super simple!

First I used the packaging already within the plastic container as a template to cut two circles...

One for the bottom of the container and one for the lid, and I glued each in place with tiny glue dots...

Then I added some foil backed baking parchment to the inside...

I cut two strips of paper to decorate the outside, giving one a torn edge...

And attached these to the container with double sided tape...

I then filled the container with goodies...some homemade mini chocolate chip cupcakes...

The next step was to make a tag using the Spookie Dookie Alpha-Bits, popping them up on 3d foam before attaching the tag to the container with twine...

And then (here's the good part)....I ate some cake!

Happy Halloween funky peeps!

On the one hand I'm late but on the other I'm early .......so what am I waffling on about ?
Well I'm  later than usual with my post for today but I'm early for Halloween with my hanging  plaque and matching card
I used the wonderful Spooky Dookie download which is full of lovely bright Halloweeny oranges, greens, purples with bats and ghosties and all things you need for your Halloween makes
The plaques is made using chipboard and I added some ribbon  to hang it with and apart from the usual  glues and tape everything else is from the download

Meet Bot!

Hope you enjoyed the Shabby Saturday Showcase and it always amazes me how one collection of papers and digi letters can be transformed into many different products!  If you've not seen the post, then pop downstairs - its underneath this one!

I've used the new digi stamp called Bot - Fire Away and teamed him with left over papers from Sleigh Ride download.  Bot is really easy to colour especially if you're not keen on digi stamps - I've used Promarkers.  I've also used some star die cuts to use up some of the titchy bits of paper (I hate to throw any bits away!)

To finish off, I've added a faux stitched line and a bit of inking!

Don't forget to link up your Funky Hand creation with the linky below - we'd love to come and visit you!

A Funky Hand Tutorial Part 3 - Categories/Collections

Hello, Tabbatha here again for another Picasa 3 tutorial! I would like to cover one of the best features of Picasa 3 - Categories, also known as Collections.

Today's post will follow the process of downloading the Spooky Dookie paper collection, and adding it to my Funky Hand Collection. Here is the finished creation, once I had the download on my computer and picked the papers via Picasa 3.

The thing about creating layered cards, especially those that are themed is that it can be difficult finding the papers you have in mind. Picasa 3 not only lets me browse through all my digital paper folders without the constant opening/closing, but it also lets me retain the file structure on my hard drive.

I utilize my Categories/Collections as a way to separate papers from my digital stamps, my finished projects, as well as other printables. I also have all my scrapbooking/cardmaking related digital supplies named similarly, so they are easier to scroll through in Picasa 3. One thing I should note, Folders vs Albums & Collections. Picasa 3 utilizes the folder structure of those folders you imported, so if you move a file in Picasa from one folder to another, that is the same as moving it on your hard drive. Albums & Collections, however, exist only in Picasa.

Once I downloaded and moved the Spooky Dookie Downloads into my Funky Hand folder on my computer, Picasa scans that folder and shows it under the "Folders" Collection.

From here, it is a matter about right clicking and selecting the "Move to Collection". This is when you create a new collection or add it to an already established one. In my case, I added it to my Scrapbooking - Funky Hand collection.

Collections/Categories are yet another way to organize Picasa 3, while maintaining your original file structure, and that is absolutely why I use this program. On my hard drive, I organize things by type (paper, embellishment, printable, digi stamp), Artist, then by (in the case of my papers) Collections. Setting up the Collections in Picasa are super easy and an efficient and lets me maintain that. :)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I've encouraged you to try this organizational tool in order speed up the creative process. We all know that that the less time we have to find what we are looking for, the more time we can get our glueing on! :D

A little organiser tutorial!!!

 Hi everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful wednesday! I have had a wonderfully busy morning with my mummy!!

So today I wanted to share something a little different that I made with the yummy new Boys will be Boys download. Its a desk organiser for my little boy. When I was little we used to make these all the time!!!!!

The pictures explain it all really so I wont waffle on too much for you!!! only to say a wet glue is best so you don't get bubbles in the paper and most importantly....have fun!!!!

and after all that icky sticky gluey fun you should end up with one of these.......
Thank you for popping in! huge hugs Lou xxx

Tag time

Hi all,
It's me Debbie with hopefully a nice bit of inspiration using the new Funkyhand craft download of boys will be boys

Well what do you think of the delicious new Bot fire away digital stamp and fab papers????  Aren't they brilliant!!!!!!! They are so bright, fun and fabulous.

I got the downloads to play with the day before I went away to Scotland, so half an hour before I was due to jump in the car to travel to the train station I was madly printing off a few sheets to play with.

I flung some:
bakers twine,
glue, double sided tape,
a ruler, scissors and the sheets in my case and off I went.

To say I had limited supplies was an understatement but I managed to pull a few card and tag designs out of the bag in time for release. The only thing I needed was some colouring pencils which my Mum bought me.

So here's my tags:
It just shows how you can produce something out of nothing with good designs and papers which Funkyhand do so well. It's nice to have the die cutting machines etc but it's just as good if you haven't. It makes you use your imagination and some good basic tools.

There is one thing I can't do without though and that's a good paper trimmer. I can't cut in a straight line for toffee - even if I am using a pencil line.I didn't even have a hole punch so I improvised.....

I might try something like this more often just to see what I can come up with. It's good to challenge ourselves once in a while.

Anyway why not have a play with your funkyhand downloads etc and either pop them below, or pop them on the Funky Hand Facebook page. We'd love to see what you all get up.So lets spread a little funkyhandness about.

Big crafty hugs
Debbie x
