6-Teen

I do like making wordbooks and what better than to use the Funky Daze cd! If you've not made wordbooks before and just want to try to see if you like, then Funky Daze is the cd for you! There are two wordbook sections and this is the male one.

They are really easy to make - just print the letters you want (I've added the number by using one of my own templates) and then if you wish, print a contrasting paper on the reverse.  Easy peasy!  I've edged each letter with a Promarker and then gone over the top with glossy accents.

The stars are cut with an X Cut die and I've popped them up with tiny foam pads and then covered with glossy accents.

Forgotten Funkies.... Funky Daze.

Good Morning everyone!!!
Its the time of month again for our 'Forgotten Funkies showcase!!! and each month our fabulous Funkettes will be here on our blog showing off some new makes with our older downloads and CD Roms.

Today's showcase is centred all around the gorgeously funky and fabulous 'Funky Daze' cd. Just look at this amazing collection of different backing papers and two wordbooks  included. These were the first two wordbooks Anice ever designed. She was very surprised at how popular they would be with everyone!  So this CD is most definitely too good to be forgotten!!! A special offer that you don't want to miss

Hi everyone!
I'm really excited to tell you about the special offer that is on over on my website.  I'm having a bit of a clear up and I thought it might be nice to offer you all a really great offer while I'm working on the nightmare that is my stockroom! So, here it is..

Yep, every downloadable collection and digital stamp on www.funkyhand.com is only £1.00! It's not going to be available forever of course.  Everything will go back to it's normal price on Friday 22nd August at midnight.  So there isn't too much time to waste.

When you think that some of the wordbook downloads are priced a £4.59 there are some serious deals to be had!  Am I mad?  I must be, but not for long!!

Grab a few deals while you can.

Using Wordbook Offcuts

I am a big fan of the Wordbooks that Anice designs - I make quite a few of them during the year as they are easy to make and look fantastic!  However, when cutting out the 'pages' for the wordbooks, I'm always left with a top and bottom strip as I print on both sides of my card.

So, what to do with these strips as I don't like to throw anything away - just in case!

I've made this gift card wallet using leftover strips from the Blue Christmas wordbook download.  I made sure that the strip would be long enough to make the band to go round the wallet itself, added a dotted line with a blue gel pen around the edges and then embossed the front of the wallet with Swiss Dots and inked the edges.

On the inside, I added the little flap to contain the gift card from a matching scrap of card so that I can make two of the wallets from a sheet of A4 card.  I've always got scraps of card left over!

I've added some glittered snowflakes and also some ribbon I found in my stash and the gift card wallet is finished!  I've got lots more left over strips to use up so I'll be making more of these in the future!

Sixty Five

I'm not one for conventionally keeping with tradition and I do like to see if I can make something a little different, so here is a slightly different way of making a wordbook that Anice and Funky Hand is so good at producing!

I've used the wordbook templates from the Wishes and Kisses cd but I've printed the 'pages' and letters separately.   On one of the pc's I use, I don't have the Papercraft Factory cd's installed so I just use them as a standard cd and click on the 'open' option rather than 'run' when it loads up.

I'm not able to use any of the fancy graphics and the digi's on the Papercraft Factory cd's but I can still use all the papers, letters and wordbook papers - I just have to do it a little differently!

The pages of the wordbook are easily printed.  But the letters are a bit more difficult as they are not attached to anything and I have to be careful when resizing so that they actually fit the pages!

But once I got the hang of it, I found it quite easy!  I've added the letters with foam pads so that it gives a bit of depth to the card and then used glitter glue around the edges for a bit of manly sparkle (if Anice can use flowers, then I can use glitter!)

The smaller letters are cut with a Sizzix alphabet set and I've added a little bit of black ribbon and some green cord to finish it off.

This is actually the card that my Mum asked me to make for my Dad's Birthday.  Which is today!!

Don't forget to link up any creation you have made with any Funky Hand products via the blue frog below - we'd love to see what you've made and you never know - it could be your lucky day!!

I ♥ Wordbooks

Good morning from me (Jackie), I hope you are all OK on this miserable and windy Sunday morning, it doesn't quite have the same ring to it as a 'bright and sunny Sunday morning' does it lol

The challenge this month was set by Lou and this is her remit
This months Get Funky Challenge is.....
WORDBOOKS

So it can be any word, any theme as long as it is a wordbook!! and..
As always you must use at least one Funky Hand product on your wordbook..:)
(its an easy rule and not much of an ask.)
and here is my wordbook made with the Jingle Bells section of the Twelve Crafters Crafting cd (which is available from the Funky Hand web site www.funkyhand.com)

As you will see from the first page of my book, I have decided to use the book as a mini scrapbook as this is the style I sell most of and as it is quite bright, I have kept my pages very simple. I have done a picture 'how to' on my blog if you want to see how to make one for yourself with Anice's fab Funky Freebie download of a wordbook which can be found on the web site.

So you now have your free word book and my pictorial so what are you waiting for? We only have one teeny, tiny rule for you to stick to which is to please remember that you must use a Funky Hand product on your wordbook. If you don't have a blog then please don't worry, you can enter through our Facebook page.

Thanks for looking and we look forward to seeing your wordbooks. :)
