Pom Poms and Pillow Boxes

For something a little different - Pom Poms and Pillow Boxes!  I've made a pillow box with papers from Now That's Funky - Funky Diva papers and for the first time ever, I got the scores in the right place and the ends simply snapped shut!

And for added glam I made some pom poms - not made these since I was a kid and was great fun - the boys were in awe!

Special Teacher

A quick random selection of papers from Now That's Funky - Sweetie Pie collection.  I've printed some of the papers as A5 and also used some of the sentiment backers plus a sprinkling of co-ordinating card candy.

Nice and simple and rather practical!

A Special Shoe

Sometimes I have an idea. And then I let it swirl around. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for a few days. And sometimes for a few weeks. This was one of those ideas.

The brief was to make something special for a work colleague for his wife's 50th Birthday.  I'd been given a list of likes and because I knew her as well I decided to combine it with her bright and funky personality.

So enter Now That's Funky and the Lollipop paper collection.

Everything I've made is from my own templates with some inspiration from Pinterest here and there. Plus some half pearls and lots of half glass diamonds for bling plus a die cut sentiment.

I was given a verse to use which I printed onto a medium scallop Sizzix tag and then cut a larger size so that a message could be handwritten onto it.  This fitted beautifully into the shoe!  More luck than planning!

The shoe was actually quite easy to make once I'd got my head around what I needed to do and how it would glue together.  I reinforced the heel just in case and the sole of the shoe has the same papers as inside the box.

It created quite a bit of a stir in the office when I brought it in to hand over.  And the recipient loved it!

For Dad - Coffee With Pals

A quick and easy card from me using papers from Now That's Funky cd - Coffee With Pals section.  Papers have been printed as A5 for a smaller pattern and I've used die cuts plus ribbon from my stash along with brown card for layering.

Nothing too fancy but easy to make!

Simple But Effective

A nice and quick card from me today using Royal Flush paper collection from Now That's Funky which is the cd of the month at Funky Hand!

The kraft card blank works so well with this collection and I've made a little paper bow and added a half pearl to the centre.

Using Scraps

I really don't like to throw anything away and have various boxes to keep all my scraps in. However sometimes these boxes become rather unruly and I make it a priority to use something from them! For this card  I used offcuts of card stock for the base - its the long thin strip cut from a sheet of A4 from making a 13.5cm square card - and the embossed panel is a piece of scrap as well as the die cut words.

All the papers are from V Funky - Cottage Linens and I've used my trusty Spellbinders for the circles (long gone are the days when I used to use a compass and hand cut them!) plus some card candy.

Spring Moments Gift Jar and Banner Card

And now for something a little bit different!  I've had this plastic jar a while and knew it would come in useful at some point!  I've used papers from V Funky - Spring Moments and made a removable cover for the front, a flower tag for the top of the jar and also a banner thank you card.

My eldest son has written the gift tag and I've attached it to the top of the jar with a funky flower and ribbon.  I've also added glass 'confetti' to the flowers on the pattern.

The banner has been made with left over scraps of card and I've used letters from a word book as templates, threaded ribbon through the tops and used glossy accents as glue to the reverse to stop the ribbon from moving.

Citrus Blues

Sometimes the simple ideas are the most striking!  I do enjoy using my X Cut stars dies and here I've combined them with the Citrus Blues collection from V Funky.  A really great CD and only £1!!

Oh, and plenty of foam pads!

Blue For Boys - Dad

Following on from my previous post, I've used the same paper collection on V Funky - Blue For Boys and used the Dad topper this time.  Again, overlaid it with a slightly smaller version (happy accident!) and did a bit of paper distressing!

Blue For Boys - Mum

Another set of great papers from the V Funky cd!  I've used the Blue For Boys collection - and printed two sheets A5 size (the top and bottom bands are snipped in half) and then used two of the ATC sheets.

I originally printed the Mum tile direct from the cd and then printed it for a second time via the 'open' option on the cd rather than the 'run' option.  I didn't realise until I was about to layer then up that the second print was slightly smaller than the first.  However, it looks fine!  Everything else is from my stash.

Watch out for more goodness from V Funky this month!

A Little Bit Of....

... Funky Daze to brighten your day!  I've made a cute basket with papers from the Funky Daze collection plus a little bunting.  Perfect for a Mum to Be Gift!

Really easy to make and the papers were perfect!  Not sure if the baby will be a girl but I liked it to be bright so it was a bit pink themed!

Funky Daze - Fourth Day

There is some wonderful colour collections on the Funky Daze cd - this particular one is called Fourth Day and is just perfect for males!

All the papers, with exception to the blue one, I've printed as A6 so that I can fit 4 different papers on a sheet of A4 card.  The patterns are also small enough so that they are not lost in the layering and overlapping.  This was a really quick card to make - great when you're in a hurry!

Candles

I've made these cute candles by printing papers from Funky Daze - Son Day collection and then rolling them up.  The papers were printed as A6 size (4 on a sheet of A4 thin card) and then I rolled them around a skewer.  The 'flames' are jute string that I've glued just inside the top of the candle.

Sentiment is a stamp from the Our Betty collection.  Don't forget that the cd is only £1 and the stamp set is also just £1!!

6-Teen

I do like making wordbooks and what better than to use the Funky Daze cd! If you've not made wordbooks before and just want to try to see if you like, then Funky Daze is the cd for you! There are two wordbook sections and this is the male one.

They are really easy to make - just print the letters you want (I've added the number by using one of my own templates) and then if you wish, print a contrasting paper on the reverse.  Easy peasy!  I've edged each letter with a Promarker and then gone over the top with glossy accents.

The stars are cut with an X Cut die and I've popped them up with tiny foam pads and then covered with glossy accents.

Monster!

I hope you can see just how much fun I had making this! I used just one paper from the Wake Up Year section on Funky Seasons - its not quite a full sheet of A4 and I printed directly onto some linen effect cardstock so the linen effect of the papers works really well with the cardstock (hope you followed that!)

Eyes are made from large wobbly eyes and two different inked circles - teeth are punch hearts and I've just made the dip in the centre longer.  The mouth flaps open to give the card a bit more character.

Letters are Sizzix die cuts and I've glittered them.  Cute eh?!

Spring Whispers

This is a really quick and easy card to make - I've used the 'extra's' tab on the Funky Seasons cd - these are the ATC's and you get a sheet of different patters which are perfect to use as scraps.

This one uses the Spring Whispers section and I've simply used a few different dies plus covered chipboard butterflies with scraps of papers plus half pearls.

Add some ink and a gel pen to dot around the edges and card is complete!

Cute and Perfect For....

... A few carefully chosen chocolates!  This little cutie is really easy and quick to make - its from the Funky Seasons cd - Spring Collection - Wake Up Year; click on the 'Extras' section and a, well, section of extra's appears!  And you can print off this little bag - all you need to do is cut, score and glue.

I've added a few extras - the little flowers plus ribbon and I printed on the reverse of the bag with a contrasting paper. For reinforcement, I added contrasting handles.  Just perfect for Mother's Day!

Hearts

Another love themed card using the I Love You Sew papers - don't forget the download collection is only £1 during February!  I've attempted to use scraps for this card and got the inspiration from my set of X Cut dies as they were in the packet!

There are 5 Love themed downloads to buy from the store for just £1 each during February!  I've used I Love You Sew and all are scraps from a previous project and as I hate to throw any bit away, I knew I'd be able to use them at some point - there is always method in my madness!
