Hello, hello. Tabbatha here again on this fine Thursday and I'm here to show you another creation using the fabulous Just For Jen Downloads.
The card is close to my heart, as I'm sure it is for so many out there. The Just For Jen download is the perfect shades of pink for a breast cancer awareness card, so I knew that I just had to use it. Plus, did you know that for every download purchased Funky Hand will donate £1.00 to Cancer Research. So yeah, get yourself the Just For Jen set now! :D
This is one of those super simple cards that you can make, all you need is 2 or 4 coordinating papers and a die or cut file in the shape that you want. In fact, I'll be spelling out two different ways in which to pull off this card. The first way is by using a die and a die machine such as a Big Shot, while the second technique is done an electronic cutter, in this case a Silhouette Cameo.
Technique 1 - Die + Die Machine
Materials:
2 coordinating papers - printed out
1 square white cardstock (I used a 13.5x13.5 cm square)
Die of your choice
How to put it together:
Since my blank card is 13.5x13.5, I did a little division and figured out that the middle of the card would be 6.75cm, which means that each panel would be 6.75x6.75 cm. With that done (the math is the hardest bit to this!), I cut four panels of the coordinating files.
To get the cutting just right, flip over the four panels and line them up so they would make the square. Use some low tack tape to tape each panel to each other. Alternatively, the panels could be adhered to some scrap paper. The idea here is that the panels are all properly lined up when you go to cut it out, with the added bonus that the little bits in the middle would be kept together.
The next step is to die cut the ribbon, just make sure to align the die centrally on the four different quadrants.
The last step is to adhere the quadrants to the card base using 3D foamy bits, making sure to support the areas around the ribbon itself.
Technique 2 - Silhouette Print & Cut
Materials:
2 coordinating digital papers
1 square white cardstock (13.5x13.5 cm square)
Electronic cutter + sticky mat
Electronic cutter software such as Silhouette Studio, SCAL, ECAL
How to put it together:
To start with, open up your software and make sure your digital papers are available. In the Sihouette Studio, I made sure that my Just For Jen papers were imported to My Patterns Library.
Next, we need to do that math thing again - four panels for a 13.5x13.5 cm square card would be 6.75x6.75 cm squares. Using this measurement, create four squares of equal size (6.75 cm width x 6.75 cm height).
Per your software's instructions, fill the squares will your chosen digital paper. In the advanced tab (if applicable) reduce the scale of the pattern, if you want a smaller pattern, like I have. In this step you can easily have 4 different quadrants, it is totally up to you.
When you have your quadrants filled, make sure they are completely lined up so that you get the full 13.5x13.5 cm square.
Next, drag out a cutting file that you would like to cut out, I chose the Cancer Awareness Ribbon, but you can easily do a heart, circle or even a square. Place the image centrally over the quadrants and select all.
In order to get the image cutout, use your "Subract All" function. In the Silhouette Studio software it is under the square icon with an "M" on it. Not wholly sure how the other softwares do it, but I know this is a common feature.
Now it is all about doing your normal "Print & Cut" routine. It should all be perfectly lined up and looking good. :D
And same as the first technique, adhere the quadrants to the card base using 3D foamy bits, making sure to support the areas around the ribbon itself.
So, there you have it. It really feels like the Silhouette version is more complicated, but really I wanted to detail as much as I could. Once you use this technique, you will always have those tools on demand for other things. :D

Flower Power
Hi everyone, I hope you are still munching your way through your chocolate mountain! Can you believe that we are into the first week in April? Who stole January, February and March? My poor little daffs haven't a clue what they are supposed to be doing, some are open, some are in bud and others just haven't bothered to do anything at all. We were in Cornwall over the weekend and they haven't had any snow, just biting winds and flooding (not good) but there were fields and fields full of beautiful daffs, so vibrant in colour.
I've put a flower on my card today, not yellow but pink and grey. If you want to go over to my blog after you've read this then I will pop a tutorial on for making the flower if you want to. It will be found at Scruff's Corner
I have used papers from Just For Jen on the Funky Hand web site, silver leaves which I found in my die cuts drawer but don't have a clue where they came from, the punch used is from Stampin Up and the gems are from my stash too.
Thanks for dropping by, I'm now going to pop over and get the tutorial up for the flower.
Till next time xx

Just For Jen
Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are having a lovely relaxing Sunday.
Following on from Kathy's introduction to the beautiful new paper collection download "Just For Jen" which will be available very shortly from the Funky Hand website, I thought I would show you one of the brand new digi stamps which will also be available on the Funky Hand web site shortly. The digi stamps are a joy to colour and they compliment the new papers brilliantly.
I used a selection of pink Promarkers with a touch of grey and a very little hint of green to colour my image as I wanted it to mirror the papers as much as possible. There are 16 different papers and an assortment of alphabets in the collection but I chose to stick to four. I also want to use up every last piece of these beautiful papers so there will be more cards to see on my blog.
Thanks for dropping by and please don't forget that we love to see your projects using Funky Hand products so don't forget to link us to your work so we can come and have a look.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx

Scraplings
Hello
Welcome back to "Get Funky and Craft!" - the Inspiration blog for the Fabulous Funky Hand shop.
This weekend sees the launch on the website of a wonderful, brand new download collection called
You'll see that it's a lovely mix of greys and pinks, hearts and flowers and generally suitably pretty with Valentines Day looming on the horizon. With this collection we're also trying to do our bit to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness. No nagging, drum-beating or banner-waving, just a gentle reminder that we all need to check that all is well....
The new papers are adorable, and really versatile so I'm sure you're going to love using them - you'll get 16 paper designs, plus 5 alphabet sheets in matching colours. You can print them as many times as you like, in any size you fancy, and on different papers (or even on some fabrics!) so try experimenting - it's great fun!
Scraplings
I thought I'd share some Scraplings today - if you cut your square card blanks from sheets of A4 then like me you'll be left with a narrow strip of card each time. I must admit that usually I buy my favourite 14cm sq cards "ready to use" but occasionally I do make my own and gradually a little stack of these card strips grows quite big. Eventually I know I'm not going to use them all for backing strips and other scrap card purposes. So I make some Scraplings.
Scraplings are just the narrow strips (usually about 7cm wide) folded in half. They are fun to make and are just great for "hello", "Just for You" or "Just Because" cards.

I had a whale of a time making these three - the "Just for Jen" papers, lots of my favourite dies and techniques, some ribbon and lace and lots of bling - what more fun can a papercrafter ask for on a snowy, chilly day, hehe
Here are photos of each, plus a run down of what I used.
coiled roses made from scraps of the papers, Pink Seam Binding, White Lace, Grey Ric-rac braid, Lots of tiny gems in silver and pink
Die cut Flower and Leaf Swirl by Marianne
Border Punch: EK Success, Pink Card Candy
Pink paper is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then given a very light "dusting" of white ink to highlight the tiny hearts
Paper Flowers in grey and pink are cut from one of the papers
Memory Box die is cut from silver-grey card. Lots of tiny gems and pearls in silver, grey. black and pink
I hope you like these and will feel inspired to raid your own scraps box for any oddments of card that you could turn into fun size cards. One of the things I'd like to do this year is to send more "just Because" cards as it's just such a lovely surprise to get something like this landing on your doormat - it makes a change from bills, doesn't it?
Here at Funky Central, we would really LOVE to see the things you make with Funky Hand stash. Whether you've been crafting for years or are new to the whole thing, it's good to share - so please add your own projects to the Linky so that we can come and say hello!
That's all for this time
Happy Crafting
